Thanks for the replies, the PH restriction makes sense if there are power lines close by, I will check other BA signs on the north side at the end of the month when we are down.

That sign at Bramerton common is clear and does say bankside, thanks for the info, but from what I remember of the PH mooring opposite HW the last time I visited, the sign said simply no fishing.
There is a generally believed perception that fishing is allowed on BA 24 hour moorings with the proviso of moving on if a boat needs the mooring, but obviously that is not the case at all.
DF does the Langley Dyke prohibition apply to boat fishing as well

Whilst checking out fishing spots on the Norfolk/Suffolk Broads via the internet I have discovered that angling is not allowed at some 24 hour moorings at certain times of the year. Bramerton and PH are two that were mentioned. Can anyone shed any light on the others.
Secondly, do these restrictions apply to boats moored at these places.

That looks a lot like a place we visited in 1972 at St Olaves,Sign on main river said bar, family room, showers etc, we moored up there one night, went to find the family room which was a wooden shed between the moorings and the pub, with an old settee and chair, both covered in animal hairs. So we sat outside the pub when I went to the bar for drinks there was a donkey in the pub, so I assume the family room doubled up as a stable. Needless to say we just had one drink then back to the boat.

Advise SWMBO that it is a bonding thing, that has to take place afloat. Worked for me I will be afloat with son and 3 grandsons over half term

No plenty of room on there, for at least 2 buckets 3 boxes and a couple of fold up chairs. Also you do not have anything on the stern. Nice boat though.

Thanks for that SPEEDTRIPLE, I am not convinced it was Broadheart I am as sure as I can be that although we have hired from Thorpe this one was from Brundall, possibly Bounty Boats a short distance to right from the Railway station looking toward the river

I have asked several friends and neighbours was greeted by a blank expression Maurice so I am not surprised.
Wonder if there was any events in Louth seeing as it was an uprising at St James church we were supposed to be celebrating

We dont have many hill in this county but some are a challenge. The one in Lincoln is made worse by the cobble stones but well worth the effort to get to the Cathedral area.
Good old Cleethorpes, have not been there this year, usually have a couple of hours there when we go to the docks area for fish for the freezer, but they have been delivering to us this summer.

Some great memories you have shared there, never went to Butlins until we had Grandchildren since then have been several times. Funny thing is we quite enjoy it even though its only 14 miles from home. in fact we will be there with 2 of the younger Grandkids the first week of half term, home for 2 days then I get to chill out on the Broads with Son and the other 3 Grandsons
The good old condiments fastened down, not very trusting some Lincolnshire folk. Would not attempt that hill these days Iian that is why we no longer visit the December Festive market that Lincoln is famous for.
The weather man on the local TV news gave a brief mention to Lincolnshire Day but other than that no seems to know about it. News travels very slowly in these parts

Hello All
Today the 1st October is "Lincolnshire Day" and has been as far back in time as 2002 although it does commemorate an event from the 1530s. How did forum "Yellow Bellies" past and present spend the day?
For me it was a bus ride to Skegness after a full english breakie that included Lincolnshire sausage and locally made Black pudding. On the journey I spotted at least 4 Lincolnshire flags.
A walk around Skeggie (Skegness to the uninitiated) revealed no sign of this special day. But not downhearted I found a watering hole and ventured in. There I was able to partake in a Plowmans lunch with of course Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and Lincolnshire Plum bread, all this washed down with a couple of pints of Batemans XB.

Treat people with respect you will get respect back. If you are in "power" and you try to force your opinions on someone else you will soon be a target yourself.
This forum IMHO is what it is because the admin and mods are first class and knowledgeable and dont take offence easily, Firm but Fair should be the byword. In my humble opinion of course
