  1. Spoke to Richardson’s, fortunately the hirers held their hands up and admitted the incident, the Richardson’s are going to call me at some point today to sort out repairs. Closer inspection there are 1000's of scratches all the way down the hull a broken fender eye, broken window hinge in the head, a burst fender and a great big dirty black mark from the rub strip hitting us not to mention a very shook up wife who had me checking the bilges all evening for water ingress. BA have also spoken to the helm and given them a blue book warning.

For anyone reading this remember this, if they had not stopped after I had called them back the BA were prepared to prosecute them for leaving the scene of an accident, so if you should hit another boat please don’t just drive off, stop and exchange details.

  2. Moored on a wild mooring just north of Acle bridge, we were T boned by one of Richardson's finest, full of lads more interested in taking 'selfies' than driving the boat. Not happy. They were not even going to stop if I had not called them back. BA and Richardson's rung and messages left with both.

First trip out this season... great

  3. I remeber a couple of years ago late on a staurday watching for the first boats coming back to Horning, seeing the green nav lights rounding the bend before New Inn only to be dragged slowly back by the tide, repeated several times until one got light whisp of air to them going. I guess that where the skill come in!

  4. Time to pick the collective brain.

We own our own boat on the northern rivers, but my brother is a carvanist, he is wanting to come down for a week or so in the summer and we are going to take him out on our boat. The question is does any know any good caravaning sites with full services i.e. water electricity etc that is ideally close to the a mooring on the northern rivers? And does anyone have any expirences of them?

    Thanks in advance

  5. £20 seems a bit high for me, I may be parnoid but it seems to me its to put off private boats from using the moorings. As for how much I would charge for someone to use my morring, well if we are not using it then I dotn have a problem with anyone using it for free but the marina probably wouldnt allow it.

  6. About a month ago we had a boat moored on Horning village staith running the engine for 10 to 15 mins every half an hour form about 9pm to well past 11pm. No idea why or what they were trying to do. I just stuck my fingers in my ears and left them too it, but cant say I was happy about it. I just find it rather inconsiderate, the only thing I can think of is it was somthing to do with heating but as it was a private boat maybe they sould take a look a their batteries, (not private boat bashing by the as I was on my own boat).

  7. It's pitty, had some really good food there and they saved big time when my phone charger broke on a solo trip, amazingly they had one and I still use it on the boat to this day. Places like that are a god send and will be missed.
