  2. For me, the HW camera which faces the bridge would be better looking across or downstream. Because of the bridge height clearances, it is not often you get a boat going under, so many times there is very little movement in front of the bridge. Having said that, if you watch at 9am or 5pm you do see the day boats going out and returning back.
Sometimes there is a van parked right in front of the bridge. Free advert

  3. Im not taking sides here but I think we were very lucky the Barnes cam didnt get turned off permenantly after the planning saga.
At the end of the day the yards dont have to provide these cameras and they do so free to viewers and the equipment must have been a significant cost aswel as having to hire in plant equipment to fix it when it goes wrong.
I agree i used to watch norfolk live and a bit disappointed when they went off. Now I enjoy watching and thinking which boat I'll hire the next time I come down. To me it is a big thank you to Barnes for the service. And the service I received from Kerry when buying our boat was excellent.

  4. when we got the boat  last september the screw wasat the top it took a bit of presure to turn it then i have turned it until it went hard about one turn every time we have been out i think this connected to my ruuder as it has a copper tube from it . and my stern tube has a plastic tube going into it under the galley floor when i go to the boat tomorrow i will trace where this tube goes as it has took us a lot of years to get the right boat. this the first boat that we have owned thats got hydrolic drive and steering and im gratful for any info that i should know about

  5. Is it definately a washer on the piston and not a large O Ring?
Ive just looked at a picture of remote greaser on sheridan marine (link below) and with the piston removed it looks like it could be an o ring but it may not be the same setup to what you have.
Thought it worth mentioning as if it is an O ring it might be easier to find a new one.

Thanks for that it's on an 84 connoisseur and I'm learning all the time on mine when you unscrew it there's a brass washer with a rubber cup washer like the one on ASAP but smaller then a metal washer holds every thing in place I'll get the makers name on Thursday

  6. That the one looked on ASAP earlier but couldn't find it many thanks to respondents for your help

ASAP don't have the right size back at the boat on Thursday to get the make of the greaser

  7. I think starbrite just needs a spare part for his existing setup, sounds like something like this:

  8. Do you mean the grease cup?
I have never seen one with a washer.
Inside the stern gland greaser there is a brass washer then a rubber washer and a metal one when I screw it down the grease just comes past the washers instead of going into the tube

  9. Do you mean a rubber tube between gland and stern tube? Or the packing inside the gland?
Probably Brian Wards at brundall or ASAP supplies at beccles.
It's inside the brass housing that you turn to push grease into the stern tube

  10. Hi all, I haven't been on to the network for ages. Just wondered if anybody had any advice.. I was considering buying a boat, have looked at a few & quite liked a couple. One was a Seamaster 27, the other a Lytton 850. I previously had a Seamaster 8 so know they're pretty good. The 27 is older than the Lytton but think the boat has been looked after & esp the engine (perkins diesel). The Lytton is a good boat but not sure as seems to be a lot of white fibreglass esp in the cockpit which I'm not too keen on & not sure if the engine has been as well looked after (Thorneycroft 1.8 d) tho it has everything I need - also thought the Seamaster seemed a stronger constructed boat. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks - Si.
I've had a lytton for the last 16 years the cockpit is a lot of plastic but inside mine it's all teak it's also twin 4107 s enjoyed it very much but we are getting older so bought a boat with the beds made up I built a box in cockpit for the fridge carpet it and put my seat on top
