  5. What about uploading all my pictures of six-inch roach? [emoji23] Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  6. Can anyone help about how good/bad the mobile signal is likely to be around Wayford Bridge. We are with Utility Warehouse, which uses the EE network but we could get a PAYG SIM with another network if necessary. We won't have WiFi. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  7. I'm trying to find out who owns the houseboats and how to contact them but searching on them just seems to bring up the various companies advertising them. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  8. We can't get any answer from Hoseasons either. We've booked a houseboat for October and fortunately have a booking reference, but we haven't had the confirmation we should have had within 24 hours, and none of the 'categories' fits a simple enquiry about the booking. All we need to establish is that we can take the houseboat from the Monday as we have things happening over the first weekend and can't take over on Saturday. Fortunately we haven't paid everything upfront. I strongly suspect a lot of companies are using this coronavirus thing as an excuse - I mean, they've had five months to get used to the measures and I can't think most of their staff have died of the plague. The company I am with moved over 1000 customer service staff out over one weekend in March and equipped them with laptops so that they could carry on seamlessly working from home. It was business as usual within 48 hours, and the staff have actually been more productive. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  9. I've never caught perch on a lure but have caught pike on plugs - ages ago. I removed the chain first... I have various lures sitting around in drawers and tackle boxes so I'd better sort them out. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  10. Interesting about the closed face reels. I never got one but my father had a Shakespeare equivalent which I found the other day. It's hardly used, and I was wondering about bringing it to Wayford Bridge in October. I also have a couple of centrepins which I love using although they are strictly close-range weapons for me. You can't beat the control you have when playing a fish, particularly when bringing it to the net, as you can let line off as you pull the fish in. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app

  13. Thanks everyone for making me welcome. It will be a combined chill/fishing/sightseeing holiday so I need to maintain a balance! Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  14. Many thanks for that. So I need fairly fine tackle but something still strong enough to keep fish out of the weed. I've read of pike grabbing fish on the way in so I'd better look out for that and keep a pike rod set up. Should be interesting, anyway. I'll look forward to it. 15. I thought I'd resurrect this thread rather than create a new one. I'll be staying in a houseboat just above Wayford Bridge in October. What is the river like there? (Yes, I know it's probably wet.) Clarity, flow, depth, fish species, methods, etc. I'd really appreciate some advice. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  16. Hello everyone. I'll be visiting in October, staying in a houseboat at Wayford Bridge for a couple of weeks. This will be the first time in this region for 48 years! Looking forward to it, and hoping the fishing will be good. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
