  1. Hi Mouldy, I went to lokk at that Lytton, the photos make it look great but it has been neglected, there is years of growth under the waterline and all the paint on the superstructure is cracking and peeling of, way over priced i'm afraid. As for the Elysians at Waterside, they need a complete refit with one of them, the woodwork is literally rotten in the cabin. Also looked at an Aquafibre 32, also rotten inside. The Alpha 31 at Brundell wasn't for us either, got to say Paul is a great chap though.
  2. Hi Dom, yes i have looked at one and looking at the other today, the first one i looked at was shall we say. not very successful.
  3. Just prodding for a bit of info please. Looking to purchase a boat, not had one for 20 odd years and things have changed since then. My question is, do i have to get a fresh survey done for insurance and Broads Toll puposes or will a previous one do so long as it's no older than 5 years old. should it be a full survey or a pre-purchase survey and what is the likely cost of one. I know i will have to pay for the lift out and in. Thanks.
  4. Looking for an aft cocpit boat, Elysian, Lytton Discovery, seamaster or similar. Don't mind a bit of work but not looking for a project. Must have Diesel inboard, pump out loo and shower. 27 - 32 foot ish. 12 - 13k, no hard tops please, need to get under broads bridges. Thanks in advance.
  5. I'm begining to build a picture here!!
  6. Exsurveyor, i stand coreected on that, makes it even worse though!
  7. I am currently looking for a boat around the 27' mark on the broads and when i checked out the licence fee, wow, that nearly knocked my socks off. Correct me if i am wrong but a boat 27' by 9' 6" £406!!! I also recently looked into selling up and moving onto a narrowboat and that was going to cost £1216 with virtualy free mooring everywhere, free Elsan disposal, free water and rubbish disposal. The major difference between canals and the broads is noticeably the amount of miles you can travel. Ibelieve there to be approximate 250 miles on the broads but on the canals there are 2000 miles of waterways. So you pay roughly a third of the cost on the broads but there are 8 times more waterways you can use on the canals! Think someone got their maths wrong. Just saying.
  8. Dom, the one at Potter, i thing is the grey superstructure, i have seen that one, i have it in mind and i have seen the paint job (oh dear). I have to say a bit of work doesn't scare me.
  9. Just a quick hello to everyone Love boats, love boating, what else is there?
  10. Don't worry Dom, i won't be buying a petrol, apart from the lack of supply and carbo monoxide issues i don't like the idea of volotile petrol fumes mixed with gas and the possibility of hydrogen gas from batteries, bit of a boom if it all goes horribly wrong. And before everyone shouts, i know petrol can be safe but i have this habit of looking at the worst case possible.
  11. Yes Cambridgecabby, i have seen a petrol one which has a portaloo, i know that petrol supplies are few and far between around here. That's double wammy because when i had my last boat, that had a porta pottie and it wasn't easy to find somwhere to empty that on the broads either! Thanks to everyone else for you info as well.
  12. Hi all, Does anyone know if all Elsian 27's were fitted with pump out toilets. I am looking at the possibility of buying one that has a Portta Loo and the possibility of fittting a pump out. My train of though is, if it's had one before, it may make it easier to re-fit rather than start from scratch as it were. Thanks in advance.
