Norwich NR1 1RY 01603 610734 NOTICE TO MARINERS OCRDA POWERBOAT EVENT LOWESTOFT SOUTH ROADS 3rd and 4th AUGUST 2019 Mariners and Port Users are advised that a powerboat racing event is scheduled to be held in the Inshore Southern approaches to Lowestoft (off Lowestoft South and Pakefield Beaches), on Sat 3rd and Sun 4th August 2019. Timings of racing may vary due to weather or other circumstances, but are currently scheduled to take place between approx. 11:30 and 13:00hrs on Sat 3rd, and 12:00 and 13:30hrs on Sun 4th August. Races will be marshalled and monitored by numerous safety craft. A flag system will be used to support VHF and other means of communications between the safety craft and competitors. The proposed race course is as per the chart extract included in this notice. This is subject to change or variation depending on weather or other circumstances that may affect the event. Mariners are requested to avoid this area during the race events, and to navigate with caution in this area both before and after race events, taking into consideration the number of competitor craft and support vessels that will be transiting to and from the area.
