In the province of Friesland, in the northern part of the Netherlands, there are many options to moor your boat. Many of these mooring places are called Marrekrite moorings. That is because they are marked and maintained by the “Marrekrite“: a partnership between the Frisian province and municipalities.

If you value peace and quiet, it's a great system, almost as if they want to encourage visitors, unlike much of the UK.....
