Guest
Hi all, I’m thinking of making an engine mounting for my yacht tender, do all outboard engines fasten on to the mounting in the same way or are they all different? Thanks, Richard
Guest
Hi all, Right ive looked at engines on e-bay and it looks like they hook on, does anyone know the distance between the hooks? Surely the hooks adjust for a tight fixing? Let me know a.s.a.p please ive just bought some 19mm marine ply for the job thanks, Rich

goodall_m1
Like a "G " clamp idea? All the ones I've come across have two screw clamps (as someone said like g clamps) which you drop over a wooden board on the transom. The ends of the clamps normally have oles in them so you can use a padlock to stop some light fingered two rag unscrewing them and nicking your motor
Guest
hi all, right ive got my measurements but not too sure on the actual piece that the engine hooks on to, any advice please on how high I should have the wood protruding above the back of the boat? it measures from the top of the boat 10inch to the bottom, I cannot go any further than this odiously over wise the wood would be in the water which would cause drag! its also got to be tall enough for the engine to sit on otherwise the engine would be practically in the water. My own conclusion would be to cut the wood to 10inch and have it at a mid point of 5inch to the top of the boat as a result it would be 5" below and 5" above for the engine to sit on. Your ideas and suggestions please.. Thanks, Richard PS. should i start posting in the boat restoration area?
