Guest
That surprises me Neil. I enjoy cycling a lot, though I guess I'm not what most people consider a "cycle tourist" because I prefer comfortable bikes with soft saddles rather than dropped handlebar racers, and I'd look ridiculous in the lycra outfits that seem so popular nowadays. I can regularly do 25 mile rides in about an hour and a half around the Norfolk lanes, but when I lived back in the midlands, that sort of distance nearly killed me, and took more than twice as long because of the hills. The beauty of Norfolk's very gently undulations is that you can still freewheel on the flat sections and yet the "hills" only last a few yards, like the hump back bridges. Modern hybrid bikes with very smooth running sealed bearings in the BB and wheels roll very easily, especially with semi slick tyres at high pressures.
