Upton Dyke

I understand that the sign on the river end of Upton dyke has had some modifications, the advisory "Narrow Dyke, difficult to turn " has been blanked out.

Be advised that nothing else has changed. Upton dyke is still narrow, and it remains difficult to turn!

I spotted that last week. Was also interesting to see that quite a few of the boats that moor down the dyke haven't gone back in the water yet, which quite a few hire boats seemed to be making use of their moorings. I presume the change to the sign has a little to do with the community trying to attract more custom to the pub, but it could put them at crossed swords with Eastwood Whelpton and the people who normally moor down the dyke.
