  1. Here you go Jim, Ready for next season, even the water looks a bit more inviting.
  2. Hi Jim, Nice photo of her..... I will do something with the picture soon....... Keep watching
  3. Computers eh, never believe what you see...............
  4. We should be around on the Sunday & Monday all being well. Canopy up, or Canopy down ? Mmmmmmm........ Oh yeah, i know which one, its a Bank Holiday Weekend (I never actually said it)
  5. Jill, We love those horns on the Duck.
  6. I agree, Luke should have had his jacket on, but constantly removes it whenever he feels like it. I think a tube of superglue might do the trick. Thanks for the comments luke (JD) they are very much appreciated. However, i still want to have a look around your pride and joy and at some point when possible come out with you for a blast on the sea if you don't mind. Regarding the fenders dragging..........Absolutely, 1/2 a knot is everything to me until shes re- propped. I did have the wife sitting as far forward as she could in the cabin at one point, but it didn't make any difference, then i contemplated chucking her overboard, but realised she had easy access to the utensils in the galley........Lol
  7. Great photo's Adam, Looks like you Guys had a great time. Hope your Turbo's have kicked back in since. Next time you moor up 10 mins away from where we live, you will have to give us a Buzz..........Lol Grant, Heidi & Luke
  8. Fraid so jim, but now they are in the bin. The head taps might be heading in the same direction. The galley tap is now a modern looking mixer with one lever which starts with cold water and then then moves into the hot water the further you turn it. Mind you, with the calorifier not connected yet, its cold all the way at the moment, Lol. If you have replaced your taps and had your head under the sink, you will know what an a******e of a job that is, especially when your back is across the alluminium edge of the cupboard door surround.......OUCH !
  9. Sorry Jill, i typed Jim by mistake..........oops
  10. As Dad says above, as his message relates to what i have done to mine. I purchased a Jabsco pressure pump for my boat back in may for £52 (Seamark Nunn online price, but pick in store), as the old one went south. I had to replace the Galley Taps as well, as the original ones leaked, due to its O rings being no good. Couldn't be bothered to find the correct size o rings, plus they were old, so we fitted a new mixer tap for 40 squid from Homestead caravans. I,m sure you will know exactly what i mean when i say that i exhausted every swear word possible when removing & fitting them, due to their location. Due to having 2 holes where the old taps were, i made a template to cut out some clear acrylic out for a curved base that fit in the corner as the new tap only needed one hole in the middle, sprayed the underside black for a mirror gloss finish on top & then glued in place with some good quality black silicone. (Job done, sounds familiar) The leaf switches on the taps directly fire the pump and to be fair no problems yet (although the head taps might need replacing, as they might be intermittently leaking from underneath now. I guess you might expect that for 24 year old taps. Anyway, the only thing thats on my mind, is that up to 4 amps passes through the switches with my pump and i,m wondering how long the contacts might last, as every time they are swicthed, there will be pitting when it sparks during contact. We shall see........ I recommend this pump Jim, it was a fair price & it works fine with plenty of pressure when you open them fully. You can hear the pump ramping up as you open the taps towards the fully open point. Hope this helps.............if i can find a photo of the mixer taps, i will put it up on here. Grant If you need the exact model, PM or Text me & i will have a look at the box in my garage loft.
  11. Thanks Guys, I,m sure we will be up that way again sometime and if not, if you are ever having a trip down south, just send us a pm or a text to the old mobile and we will try and we might be able to meet up. Hope you had a pleasant weekend peeps, all the best, Grant.
  12. Just a few piccies during our short break to Wroxham and surrounding area. This was our 1st major trip in Destiny, so there was always the thought in the back of the mind that something was going to break down. Well, we only had two things...... A poor fuse holder connection to the auxillary socket for the cool box and the new TV/Dvd player having a fault with the integral Dvd player to my sons disgust. (Back to the shop with that) We departed WRC with Perfect Dream on the Monday and returned to WRC on the Saturday. I won't bore you with all the details, but if you ask DaveS (Perfect Dream) about the Braydon Water crossing in the dark & then mooring up at 10:45pm ish next to St Olaves Bridge, he might tell you his story (Bearing in mind, he couldn't see where he was bloody going even with his spotlight) Apart from that, absolutely fine, no problems at all. The only dissapointing part for me was that i couldn't get her on the plain when we were on Braydon water, she only reached 3400 rpm instead of 4400 rpm.
  13. Hi Brian, Thanks, but as above, the Browse /Upload option is there now, so ok now Thanks Grant
  14. What did you do .......... Just went and had another look, as the Upload & Browse option was not there at all. BUT NOW IT IS ???????????????????? All that was there was a Box where the image would be and a long box for the URL....... Nothing else Now there is an Upload and Browse option, so something has changed since i posted the question.
  15. Im sure this has been asked b4............. I,m trying to upload a photo for my Avatar, but not having any luck. I have resized it to 108KB JPEG and copied & pasted the URL into the correct section, but no joy (doesn't know the URL) The upload format looks very much like the one i use on my Kit Car Forum, but unfortunately this one won't work for me. I did look at the FAQ section, but it doesn't give exact details how to upload the image, just mentions contacting the administrator. I,m sure its not necessary to bother them, as all its asking for is the URL of the image, so i'm wondering what i am doing wrong ? Thanks Grant
  16. If it stays as shiny as Cassie all season and just needs water & a quick wipe, then thats pretty impressive. Mind you, that was after a compound 1st. Looks like you will be the Guinea Pig with this stuff and it will be interesting to see how it lasts. How much do you get for £60 ? Grant
  17. I had forgotton about makro, we have an account with them as well. Akura are ok, as they have been making budget Tv's etc for years. A lot of lower range mainstream manufacturer's Tv's for example Toshiba are actually Akura inside. I used to repair brown goods for a living, but got out of that line of work 15 years ago and i remember working on Akura products then. Jonathan
  18. Ok thanks Jim. Tesco's want £120 with a Integrated Dvd player and if i go down the inverter route, probably going to be another £25 - £30 for a cheap inverter. I appreciate that you get what you pay for, but for the boat it just has to be reasonable. The cheap screens tend to have poor viewing angles, poor contrast ratios and slower refresh rates and may not be as reliable, although whether you pay £100 or £8000, theres no guarentee of reliability. I have also realised that i really need an inverter on the boat anyway, so may go down this route in the end ? I have until the end of this week to decide, as i am unfortunately running out of time to get this sorted. I'll wait to see what develops on this thread or if something comes up at your end Jim then i will make a decission at the weekend. Thanks for the inverter link Gordon, thats pretty cheap. As long as the tv doesn't mind a dirty sinewave then a cheap inverter might be ok. Thanks for the input so far Guys Grant
  19. Starting to get a picture here after making many phone calls to retailers. (Excuse the pun) It would appear that most small Lcd tv's about a year ago had external PSU's, but now they all seem to be integrated. I would suspect that the power comsumption for these sets has maybe got less, thus having smaller PSU's to run them. I know that Tesco's 15.4'' set is only 60w, so thats basically a light bulb. If nobody can help with this one, then i think i will have two options - [*] Buy an inverter [*] speak to one of my old friends who is still in the Tv trade to find out what make / model would be suitable for supplying 12v onto the pcb. Thanks Dad, but that model isn't available anymore
  20. Hi, Don't know if anybody can help, but i'm looking for a cheap Lcd tv (preferably with integral DVD Player) that i can run on 12v. (Ignoring the ones that are actually sold as 12v, as they are usually overpriced) I have read some info on other forums and have also had this confirmed by one of the Guys in the Marina at WRC (because he has one) that Tesco are/ were selling a Mains operated 15.4'' Lcd Tv with integral Dvd payer that had an external PSU (Power Supply Unit). The actual supply to the Tv from the extenal PSU was in fact around 12v, so the PSU could be left with the packaging and a new lead made up to feed the 12v straight to the TV. Well, i went to Tesco today to look at this set, only to find that has just a mains lead, and connects to the TV with a 3 pin IEC socket. Therefore it's PSU was integral...............Not good Now,i could take a gamble and buy it, hoping that it just has a Transformer inside and then supplies 12vdc to the rest of the set (if i'm very lucky.) But, if it has a switch mode PSU with several different +V rails, then this would cause me a lot of hassle. So, unless someone has already had one apart and knows what they have inside, i'm not gambling my money. Can anybody tell me where i can buy one of these sets that have an external PSU please and preferably one that has around 12vdc coming out on the secondary Many thanks Grant
  21. Thanks Andy, I shall contact them on thursday and see what they say. Grant.
  22. Hello all, I'm looking for a new set of foredeck escape hatch latches...... I have surfed the net for a set, but can't find anything like them. I Don't know if they were just an eighties thing and don't exist any more or i am typing the wrong word to search for them. Here is the best description that i can give you......... There are alloy two handles fixed to the foredeck hatch which rotate and each have a thick blade that locates into a black plastic channel (These plastic parts are just screwed to the inside of the boat). when you turn the handle the blade moves downwards and across in the channnel which pulls the hatch down tighter and then stops the hatch from being lifted up. I am after a pair the plastic channel parts. They are really crude in design and i thought that they would be easy to find, but it would appear not. If anybody knows where i can find a pair, or what they are actually called, i would be very grateful. Thanks in advance Grant
  23. A little while back, when i was sorting out the wiring, i had many access panels removed. One of them was hiding the massive fuel tank which had some sort of grey plastic cover over it and the only part that didn't, was where the fuel sender was. This might be the only area that i could connect it to. Oh well, will add this one to the list........Lol,
  24. Thank you for your help regarding that. Looks like it was worth asking the question with this one, but now i need to think about how to connect this hose to the fuel tank.........
