  1. Sorry Jonzo I won't comment in a derogatory manner regarding it again after this post Paladine, ask and ye shall seek the truth, at least they were correct that the post was made tounge in cheek and nothing else more sinister or malicious than a harmless bit of fun. The rest hmmmm. (And it wasn't me before I get accused!!) BigDave out
  2. The establishment has silenced another non conformer
  3. Suspicion and mistrust, yes! I would never trust anyone who runs crying to Trading standards over nothing. These type of people can damage a business very quickly with a dangerous lack of intolerance and disregard to others
  4. Correct but if that information is passed around what else is passed around? Not a threat, personally I couldn't care less as I am not a registered user on the NBF I asked for my account to be deleted over a year ago. I'm glad I did! And your kind of missing the point. Why would anything regarding another poster that is not visible need to be passed around?
  5. Possibly Matt, who knows but why delete it if TOS were not violated and Mods are not 100% it was a wind up, nobody posted to state it was in jest. Mods should not bring their personal narrow minded attitudes into play when editing or deleting posts. They should follow the TOS only. It Is quickly becoming a joke on there and other on other social media sites are starting to voice this Stowager, if you are not a mod why would you be privy to other posters IP addresses? Unless personal information is been past around regarding other posters within the clique? I would be alarmed if Mods were passing my information to other posters without my permission. Could someone threaten a lawsuit for disclosure of personal information on that!!
  6. Interesting. I think Richard really needs to start to reign these people in before they ruin his forum. Just reading various broads related websites/forums and it does seem that the NBF is starting to gain a reputation within the broads community as a very intolerable place to be. The NBF Has been slated regarding this on here, the NBO and someone has had a go regarding the forum on Richardsons Facebook page. I was reading the NBF last night there was a thread running about someone wanting to arrange a stag do on the broads some of the things they were asking were a little bit rowdy like playing music and giving the. Boat some throttle but were perfectly valid questions for a youngster new to the broads. And unaware of the rules and a couple of the good posters had answered the questions with answers a little info and a point in the right direction to which the chap seemed very grateful That thread now has vanished! It didn't violate any TOS. Censorship at its best from the establishment. That's what happens when you have mods with inflated self importance and a very narrow minded attitude to others lifestyles and social backgrounds
  7. Shows the difference in attitudes a steady well mannered thread about the topic on this forum where as the NBF are into 2 threads totalling 14 pages now. some people need to realise the world doesn't revolve around them, it seems that those people seem to reside on one forum. I mean reporting to trading standards, give your head a shake!
  8. Expect the FBI / MI5 / Men In Black smashing you front door in Clive. The law that is the NBF members are in full swing. I think so far you have been reported to Trading Standards, Broads Authority & God. I think they've retired from court now to discuss a public hanging on Stalham High Street. Naughty step for you! P.S. Great marketing idea, keep up the good work!
  9. Dajen, my opinion, your entitled to yours. I made a 5p donation today. Just thought I'd let everyone know how generous I am. Go me!
  10. thats kind of the NBF mentality in a nutshell if you disagree with someones point of view, throw an insult
  11. and I thought we were having a debate without decending into personal insults.
  12. Kfurbank, no abuse just an opinion. People on this thread have disagreed with me, I haven't shot them down telling them there wrong. We all have different opinions, thats just life
  13. I agree Dan that every forum has it's good an bad points but i've never been on a forum like that one with large egos and the underlying arrogance of a few posters (generally the ones on it 24/7)it doesnt make it a nice place at times. sure every forum gets them but the mods quickly knock it on the head, unfortunately the mods are part of that group on there
  14. Fair point Dan, just trying to put across that I feel that way about the NBF and not just someone hiding behind a keyboard slagging it off for no good reason. Not everyone will share my views but just putting my view across. therealist, I'm sure we'll end up with the NBF feds smashing our front door down at some point
  15. just thinking on what Jason said regarding anonymous digs. when it all flaired up when I spoke my mind I PM'd Richard my name address and phone number and asked If he would contact me regarding my issues, I am still awaiting a reply. Like wise if anyone else takes real issue with the points I raise I have no objection doing the same.
  16. I agree with you all. If you don't like it go somewhere else. And that is what I have done. My points may not seem constructive but i'm just putting my point across as to how the NBF makes me feel. With the PM's I have recieved from other members I am not alone in thinking this I brought it up one time regarding the clique thinking that they have the final say on how the forum is run and which social groups are acceptable to visit the broads, I was moderated for speaking my mind and going against "seasoned posters", that was the exact words the mod used in the PM to me (put my point across abit like this post, nothing threatening)but the abuse I got was allowed to stand (including posts by mods. As for the tin rattling side of things I use 3-5 different forums and have used many in my time and the NBF is the only one that holds out the pot. So in my experience not every forum asks for donations. I run a Fishing forum, it costs me nothing so I dont know how you could end up 4k in the red when there are plenty of free platforms for hosting.
  17. I probably fall into that catagory now, I no longer post but still read it from time to time. If it dissapeared tomorrow and never came back personally it wouldn't bother me that it ceased to be. What would bother me is that some of the old boys club would start to use other forums that i use to get away from this hosility and then they too would start to decend into the farce that the NBF has become. Moderation on the NBF is personal not inpartial as the moderators are part of the clique on there, possibly why a small group seem to get away with saying what goes on within the forum, and the broads. I very ralrely see a post from Richard trying to bring certain members back in to line to make it fair for all 4 or 6 very opinionated people run the show. There was a post from a new member back in august introducing themselves and they mentioned about they would be having a couple of BBq's whilst there. The first page of posts then went on to warn the new member about making sure the BBQ was raised off the floor, stating to make sure they put it in the bin afterwards etc ect not even a welcome to the forum or, hope you enjoy your holiday. It's a very hostile place for new members and these members are not challanged because the Mods are part of that group. On the other hand some see it as a large part of their social life and would be lost without it. Feeling the need to fund something thaat is not financially feasable just to have that social interaction. If it was for the fact that they like talking about the broads then theres 3-4 different forums for that that dont pressure members into coughing up their hard earned. for a free resource Just my opinion though!
  18. Dont use the forum anymore due to a handfull of over opinionated posters who feel they have the final say on what happens on the forum and what goes on and who holidays on the broads. Although supposedly a free forum theres plenty of tin rattling going on and then the clique squabbling to post whos made the biggest donation. Each to there own like someone else mentioned, if you dont like it, vote with your feet. 8000+ members and probably 50 odd properly active members kind of speaks for itself as to how many people are put off from atmosphere on there to be fare though the place is a hive of information
