Here is the Popular based on the 100E as someone stated very short run from 59 to 62 as the cut back rear window of the new Anglia and Classic were not to everyones taste.Screenshot_20180724-145022.thumb.png.6c2d36db6215ed3a5a0b6fd5d8960dff.png

Also the Essex registered in Chelmsford around 1962 in the picture has non standard wheels. But looks to have undergone s serious restoration and well loved again now by the looks of the picture.

I've just got one thing to say on Ford Populars - vacuum wipers. HaHaHaHa. Just when you needed them they slowed to a crawl across the glass, making you take your foot of the throttle, when they'd attempt to throw themselves off the screen. Until you accelerated, which would initiate the whole cycle again!

    Sorry to hijack, Vaughan.

100E also had vacuum wipers, some early E93A's has hand turn wipers

  4. Not just me then thats had 2 virtually new domestic 110ah (12 months) batteries done in and 120ah agm starter battery 24 months old (10 year guarantee) done in due to miss wiring. Same yard. But also 167l of diesel pured into the bilge due to same yard taking out float switch and not refitting correctly. I'm sure Robert remember that as well as I do.

Indeed. And if we had been hit at the speed that another hire boat was hit this morning it would have undoubtedly caused our boat serious damage.

Shall we cease with all this talk about collisions and damage, it will put off potential hirer's. I can assure those reading this thread that collisions and damage are not a common occurrence slight brushes are more common, and nothing to get excited about.

so don’t  knock him for stating the obvious or are we going all politically correct with hire boaters now for fear of offending ?

Politically correct no, I just live in the real world knocks n bruises happen a fact of life boating in busy areas. Nothing at all to do with hire v private.

I knew an old chap, when I lived at Burgh Castle, he told me, he got "five bob for 'em". He worked the marshes on 'the island' and never went short of 'beer money' thanks to the coypus and the geese or ducks, that "flew into the pylons" near Haddiscoe bridge... :10_wink:

As a kid we used to get 2/6 for every grey squirrel tail we took in to the council offices. That stopped one they realised the greys had won and killed off our reds

We have moored as close to the yacht station office as possible so the staff can keep an eye on the boat but there is only so much they can do against errant hire boats

Please stop knocking hire boats, as the people who hire them is wide and varied. Many owners on the Broads started off as hirers.

We have cancelled everything but I,ll talk with her about kingline that sounds nice, but even here like you say my legs may be even worse but I have a mobilty scooter in my car the leg which is adversly affected is the left leg the car is an automatic so maybe just maybe it might work but before anything is done I will if I can get there see what everything entails.

Sadly David, i'm going to be devils advocator here my friend.

    1)  Being a mobility scooter user, isnt really a reason for not having a broads holiday. look at our own :6973434b8b31cd5effed88c7cbb2f1149d4af7_t:Broadscot RIP Iain he never let it stop him.

    2)  If I listed half of whats wrong with me a lot would say your still boating, (I feel very lucky to be still alive) yes I have a shooting stick on board and one in the jam jar along with a walking stick. I intend carrying on until I am no more. Look at Richard RIP Richard, he to buckled down and got on with life as best he could right up to virtually the end.

    3)  There are many on here that would help you, in fact have tried helping you, in many ways.

    4)  This is where I get jumped upon or not, its so easy to feel sorry for yourself, and sit about dreaming and moping about, your ailments. just think this There are far more people out there worse off than you are. But before any one says talk is cheap and easy I have had a disabled badge since 1996. If it comes to it I would drag myself here on my hands and knees to take in the broads.

    5) Follow your dream go for it sooner rather than later, i'm sure any help you need will be forth coming from the members here The NBN The Friendly Forum
