This is one of my favourite eateries. I hope there was nobody hurt in the fire and I hope they can get it back in action soon. Best of luck to them.

Hi Iain,
I hired Caspian Sea, Medittereanian Sea, Carribean Sea, among others and a few times, I was the first hirer. Good yard and John and his wife (Sandy I think) were lovely people.

Hi Jon,
Now I know what the WMS stands for and it's not John Williams. It's just that I used to hire from him many years ago.

650XS,
Thanks for the welcome. Could the jon wms be the yard next to the Stalham Staithe?

Will do Iain, by the time I'm finished, it'll be called Adnams backside.

Hi Steve,
It is normally the things that are taken for granted that you miss the most, like the widget in the aluminium container that goes "whoosh" when you pull the ring at the top.
-
You can get CDs here and even pirated movies. I have a couple of hours of nice slow music on a memory stick that I use, but still miss listening to the radio.
-
Iain,
I can listen to most things on the PC, including music, etc and we get all the news channels on the TV, but I was thinking more along the lines of in the car going to and coming from work.
-
Thanks Gary. 9th to 16th August isn't that far away now, so excitement is rising. Just looking forward to a nice cruise, with a can of John Smiths at hand and the roof down (I hope). Oh! - one other thing, there is no English radio here in Saudi, so looking forward to some nice music and banter to listen to.

Where am I going to put all my empty Scotch bottles? Maybe I'll write a load of notes, put them inside the bottles and float them down the rivers.
On a serious note, a family of 4 eating on the boat, will have plenty of full plastic bags that they will want to get rid off, before they smell.

OOOHHH, I'd love a bit of rain here. It's 39C on the way home from the office tonight and the dust is like fog. Work is great for me, 'cause it means I don't have to spend all day taking the wife and kids shopping.

Alan and Tan,
Many thanks for the welcome.

Thank you Roy and Diane for the welcome.

Good evening Admiral and many thanks for your welcome. Not much water here in Riyadh, so I don't think you were in the Saudi Navy.
-
Thanks for the greeting Keith. Drawbridge is raised. :

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the welcome. It's not so hot here today - only 39C. It was 45C last Friday, but no humidity, so OK. I've been here 3 and a half years this time, did a 7 year stint back in the late 70s and early 80s. It's worth the travelling to get down to "broads speed" for a week.

Good morning to all members of the Forum from The sunny city of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
I am a long time Broads lover who first tried it in 1971 aboard a boat called Glistening Stream. I used to come 2 or 3 times a year until 2004 and then missed out for 10 years. Now I am back in a position to resume my love for boating and I was on Fair Monarch in April and will be on Carousel 3 in August. I am Scottish by the way - only working in Saudi.
