A very happy Anniversary to you both, that takes some kind of special to be together after 50 years, I've only been married for ten and I don't think I'll make 15 :naughty:

Seriously, my parents have been together forever, it's so refreshing to know that some couples stick together through thick and thin, so many couples seem to run at the first sign of trouble, my dad always says "When the going gets tough, the tough get going", well, Lionel Ritchie did, anyway, lol

Have a lovely day and all the very best to you both cheers

    Grace

    So did Billy Ocean ?!

  4. I was involved in the ill fated C in C of a couple of years ago, a lot of hard work and organisation went into this by Griff. For whatever reason it didn't happen, but in my own opinion, ONE of the reasons it didn't happen was because it was too big (20 + boats) and that's an awful lot of locking in and out for lock keepers.

Still itching for a salty bottom, happy to join anyone thinking of doing this this season, but honestly think half a dozen boats is a sensible size flotilla.

  5. Hi B B,

Yes went myself, I don't know if I'm expecting too much from these Boat Jumbles, but I've been to Newark 4/5 times and in my opinion, it gets steadily worse, fewer and fewer stalls, just rubbish, tat and ropes. Oh and several yappy small dogs, but like I said, maybe I'm expecting too much.

  6. I have to agree, but being half way to Brundall for me gives me an opportunity to check on the boat. Just thought if a few members were going might be good to meet for a coffee and put faces to daft names !

  7. Fair post LR, to be fair they do come across as a shambles and wouldn't like to make the trip with them, but still have to admire the old boys bottle, when men of a similar age settle for a spot of fishing or dominoes.

I've sailed across the North Sea several times, can I comment, please?

A lighted candle on a boat that has taken the bottom and is developing a list, even a Broads sailor can relate to that.

JM. I didn't doubt for one second that you would have something to say , even if it was just to remind us that you are a REAL sailor, oh and to state the bleeding obvious .........

Last draft I did post with an imho.

I think there is a big fat line between respect for having balls and sheer stupidity.

lets hope they don't get half way across the Atlantic and need a big rescue scramble that costs innocent lives.

Just my opinion but I had to say it.

So do I Baitrunner, my problem is listening to Norfolk Broads Sailors who feel qualified to offer derogatory comments directed at a crew sailing from Norway to the U S A.

  10. Mmmm, topic title a little harsh, a Vietnam vet pilot who has the b***s at 71 to make a trip like that gets a lot of my respect. Ok they are a pain in the butt for the rescue services, I'm sure they are not the first and won't be the last, but I just can't help feeling a tad of admiration and respect for these old guys, I hope they have fair weather and winds soon to continue their journey so they can be out of ear shot of how much they are costing us.

More life Jackets in last nights program.

How does an hour long program seem to last only a few minutes. The canal and the broad waterways featured were almost like sections of Broads or the lochs in Scotland.

We have not used electric operated locks but have operated a few road bridges, most in the UK operate using the BWB key.

A great program to watch, we are looking forwards to next weeks episode.

    Regards

    Alan

You'll be disappointed , that was the last episode. They have recorded more I think in Sweden and other places to be shown at a later date.

Paul, no.  Neil Warnock  has already been  sacked twice by Palace, and if QPR  eventually make him permanent and then sack him it will be the second time hes been sacked twice by the same club!

Neil Warnock was sacked at Notts County, sacked at Huddersfield, sacked at Plymouth, sacked at Bury, sacked at Oldham, sacked at Sheffield Utd, sacked at Crystal Palace (twice), sacked at QPR, sacked at Leeds. You are aware that each time he gets the sack, he also gets a considerable pay off.

I don't think Neil is too bothered about the odd jibe.

  13. Because the yacht station and its facilities are closed, does this mean there is no mooring at Norwich until the yacht station re opens ? I would think that's not the case ? Just means no Ranger to relieve you of a mooring fee....... Happy days .
