  1. Water level was much lower then :)

Unless there was no other option, you jumped from midships where the deck was lower - anyway that was what you did on WR - a sister ship is in background of Griff's photo.

I was 16 months old for my first trip, on an Admiral from Brooms, followed by another Admiral, Challenger ?34 (Trumans), Checkmate (Collins at Oulton) then three Ripplecraft when we went from spring weather to summer weather, followed by a Broadland Teal which father considered buying, Valentina in November from Neatishead as it was one of the only boats available in November in 1965, the WR (Delight VII) was bought.................. (Father tried the Fens out twice and the Shannon once)

  2. I read the story on more than one forum so knew when I signed the petition that the key element was that the link to civilisation was under question or removal rather than the closure of the moorings but still felt the need to signl. Comparing to Womack Island is not fair as that is an island. What is interesting is that nearing everyone that has commented says that the lose of moorings in particular wild moorings is key to their concerns............

  3. There is no problem turning around, the problem this summer was serious weed! The weed blocked the intact on WR before it even reached the filter - it was a serious blockage. LBBY have banned me from taking WR up there again :)

  4. Does Magnor have any bulk head numbers remaining. Cleome which was Powles built still had hers and the owner(who you will know) traced the info at the Norfolk Records Centre as I did with WR and two out of the four Delights that went to Ireland in 1965 - just a thought?

  5. I don't think the photos are taken in Wroxham, the first photo shows the sheds much clearer and they aren't the Loynes' sheds. Can't say where it is unless it was taken in the Jenner's basin at Thorpe. It is odd that two Hearts cruisers are close together?
