Morning Griff, thanks for your reply. Didn't expect you to so late at night.
Although this problem of Haven bridge has no direct effect for me. I find the attitude of bridge control to be unacceptable. Just as well you didn't all have prepaid train tickets.
Colin
MM, I fully agree.

Sorry Griff what I should have said was any charge made/requested for opening the bridges or for Indy to stay overnight buy Peel Ports. I trust it was free of charge. Sorry if I didn't make my self clear.
I'm off to bed now as I'm sure you need a few good nights sleep to.

Just a question. Was any charge made/requested for opening the bridges or for Indy to stay overnight.

Craft Registered between 1 January and 31 March
New craft registered with the Authority, or craft being registered to a new owner and not previously licenced, on or after 1 January will recieve a 50% discount on the appropriate annual toll up to 31 March.
'new owner not previously licensed' is the important part.
Have a look at the bottom of this page.

Robin will ONLY have to pay half a year as Indy will be registered aft Jan 1st ( whoopee). They will also credit what he paid the ranger.

Think I'll stick to my old 2.5BMC.
I was way off, probably only got to Dover with my estimate.

Morning Robin, hope you slept well last night. Look forward to following you today on here and ais. Weather here in Norwich is cold but calm.
Thanks Paul for your video. It shows how nasty the entrance into Gt Yarmouth can be if not slack water. There is a nasty swirl in the mouth on the Gorleston side at anything other than slack. It would be why Indy was rocking and rolling as she came in.I'm sure will tell us more once he's well rested.
Thanks ALL for your photos and videos over the last few days, I've hardly got anything done.

The big question now is WHY can't they open the bridges?

Stuff the work, the boat is more important IMHO. I know that the crew prob have little choice which is modern life for you. They have done such a sterling job it seems a shame they cannot see it through to the end. Well done all concerned.
l would love to add my name to the crew list but have to be in Norwich all day tomorrow.

At least they can get into town for a hot meal and a beer
.

I bet it's stuck because it's too cold!

This would not be a good time to run out of credit Robin

Hi vanessan, we made the decision a few years back and now live on our boat. We didn't want to be stuck in some care home, blanket over our knees wishing we had done this and that. Mind you the bucket list has not all been ticked yet.
I think I will have to frame a copy of the quote and fix it up in Lady Linda.
Come on Indy, where are you, the suspense is killing me.

Good Luck tomorrow Team Indy.

Well done team Indy. Hope to follow you more closely tomorrow. Had hoped to wave you in at Gt Yarmouth on Monday but now have to wait in for deliveries on both Monday and Tuesday
. Hopefully a few others will be able to wave from the harbour mouth.
All the very best wishes, hope Sheila is feeling a lot better. I don't think a fish and chip supper will cut it tonight
.

Just catching up on the voyage having spent a wonderful afternoon getting the pumpout pump to work again.
I did think they may try for Newhaven and gain a few more miles but always best to stick to plan A if all is going to plan.

I've never been good below decks if it's a bit lumpy. Always managed to keep my breakfast. Get him a good breakfast and keep him up top or on watch. If he can see the horizon he should stay the right colour.
Look forward to the updates tomorrow. Have a safe journey.

Or he could just buy the freehold!

B2P That's close enough isn't it. Parkeston is part of Harwich or it was when I was young. Either way anything coming out of there will be big and generally fast if going to the hook. Stena still run from there.

Working on the basis of not pushing Indy too hard unless they have to make a run safe haven.
May you have fair weather and safe journey. Watch that b*#%dy ferry out of Harwich, he takes no prisoners!
Colin
p.s. Grog rations in port only.
