It was Katie being “tongue in cheek” when she said she was not allowed to say how old , I’ve had a wonderful day , early start at work 05:45 but finished by 14:15 , Katie off this week so home to roast beef and horseradish baguette , then into town to exchange a belt Katie bought me (no not for a bigger one , a smaller waisted one !!!!!) bit of window shopping then home .

Just had a steak dinner Katie cooked and shortly will be having some piping hot rhubarb and ginger crumble.

Wonderful prezzies from Katie (Levi 501’s , a new belt , new work bag, sweets, socks, boating top)  , the mandatory alcohol from my children (a couple of bottles of malt) middle child sadly got the flu so will have to wait and see what arrives but my bet is a bottle of gin and some kids sweets .

    I feel very fortunate.

off to bed shortly as up again at 05:00 for work .

Just downloaded the photos from my camera rather than my phone. I had thought there was going to be a cruise around the broad  before mooring like last time,  so in anticipation,  to capture a shot of every boat pass by, I had a different lens on and didnt have time to change it to the long lens. Sorry guys if I didn’t capture you all ( I told Grendel off lol)

We did wave as we went past but I think you were tying ropes your better half looked a bit confused.

My apologies, I didn’t realise it was you until I saw the name on the back - still keep looking for Nipper - plus I was too busy watching the boat rocking back and forth 🤔🤣

  5.  I would like to say a Huge thank you to all those who answered the distress call  of a fellow boater  -everyone rallied round and were amazing!

Steve immediately answered my call and went to help, John kept him company until the ambulance arrived and the marvellous Chris volunteered to take care of Cerise Lady - she is now safely tucked back up in the wet shed.

Thank you all so much,  as there was little I could do from a distance, I am very grateful that both Simon and Cerise Lady were in such good hands.

  6. Sewing again!
NHS scrub bags done earlier in the lockdown check 100 or so face masks (sorry coverings) finished- friends and family. Check
Saturday was operation dinghy cover. I threw away the Weathermax colour sampler about 8 days ago as I thought it was not required, so naturally the old dinghy cover split shortly after bin collection day.
The old cover, cheap and cheerful fabric from EBay had uv degraded at last-after a reasonable time, it has to be said.
I rang the sail loft at our local chandlery.
“What colour can I get to go with British Racing Green?”
”Not sure, someone has wandered off with my colour book.”
    ”You too?”
We commiserated and checked the website. Steve recommended a charcoal grey with a lighter yarn woven in and I went for that.
A couple of days later, he rang to say it was in. We drove over and he did a contactless delivery into the car. Result.
I like Weathermax, it is light and very high spec, so the new cover went together quite fast. I just need to do eyelets tomorrow and job’s a good’un..

Spiderman and generally Marvel masks...sorry coverings.

  7. All I will say is that we are still currently treating 90 covid-19 patients in our hospital and 30 waiting for results, 25 of these in intensive care - that doesn’t include any other patients that need urgent and emergency treatment who also need expert care or others that have had their cancer surgery delayed.

if you want to talk semantics and interpret the latest information to suit your own goals that is your choice - but if you all suddenly go out, for whatever reason, you will potentially put an extra stain on the NHS and those that are trying to combat this disease. This is not over, it has not eased and people are still being infected daily .

Today the roads into the Broads were quiet in the early morning, hooray!

We were so early in Upton that the pub was shut! Now this was bad because, no coffee, and good because we headed to the boatyard and there found Tradition and Cerise Lady moored up. So with a cup of Katie’s tea and a lovely ‘catch up’  chat with everyone; we could not have done better.

We checked out Brilliant eventually then headed for the caravan which will be home for a few days while we work on the boat. It belongs to old friends so we were immediately comfortable.

The view is just great so I am posting a ‘guess where’ to annoy everyone.:default_cool:

We headed back to Wroxham to collect a few things from the mooring, and buy an electric fan! I have a feeling it will be needed this week.

Thank you CC, next time we meet we must try a pot of Tesco's French (Strength 5) or Taylors Lava Java with a Pernod chaser. That should get the morning off to a good start. With luck I should have an espresso by then. :)

It’s very true good unless you forget about it on the stove - then the coffee goes everywhere  :default_dunce:

A decent decanter is always a must, and of course some silver decanter labels. One needs to remember that on a boat there really isn't enough space for the proper numbers of decanters so from time to time one has to use the same decanter for the port as you used for the wine, which you also used for the sherry.. Never forget that some discomforts always need to be allowed for on a boat. Roughing it is all part of the fun.

But we have our own in built drinks cabinet - I have a spare decanter if you should ever need one ! :default_biggrin:
