  1. I presume you have a hot water cylinder? id go for a normal domestic mixer shower, then you won’t be reliant on shore power. your boat seems to be set up to be quite reliant on a 240 v supply . there are no power supplies outside of the marinas on the Ouse. our broom 30 is all geared for basic mooring and it works quite well but one can get a bit paranoid about battery charge levels😆
  2. Hi Daniel, Where abouts in the marina did you get a berth in the end? EA have move to caution from SSA but I’m not 100% certain that st ives lock has been reopened, I think the upstream locks are open now. I’ll be down Friday to do some jobs, then back on Sunday for a cruise up to hemingford meadows ,if all goes well we will carry on upto godmanchester on Monday, back to Jones on Tuesday. have you made plans yet?

Coming down tomorrow, maybe a cruise on Sunday if things are ok. I’ve not seen the boat since December so a good clean is the 1st priority
  6. I’ve not been to Jones since before Christmas 🎄 everytime I’ve made plans the weather has scuppered me😕🤬
  7. As you probably know, the old west has no real flow from the Ouse, only what comes through the lock, and runoff obv. as to the marinas you’ve mentioned,I’d go and take a good look at them and speak to some boat owners berthed at them before committing. at least with Jones you know that should conditions become poor they will do their utmost to look after your boat.
  8. Pretty sure sweep is ok, the lads at Jones moved it to a floating pontoon a couple of weeks back. I can’t see it on the webcams but someone posted some drone footage on Facebook yesterday,(that’s where I pinched the shot of st ives) all was ok then.
  9. I prefer an oil filled rad, #1 it’s silent #2 it doesn’t dry the air like a blown air heater.(just my opinion)
  10. My normal berth is the other side of the two big trees. iirc, that’s the 3rd time since Easter that the spit of land has been submerged. the 1st time, just after the boats were lifted back in,the water was so high that the cruiser next to mine lifted its stern mooring line off the pontoon and was sideways on resting against the big willow tree, actually floating above the normally dry land. big shout out to the staff at Jones though because it was soon sorted (this was a Saturday evening. the following week the pontoon was modified. the web cams did go off though whilst it was recovered
  11. I’ve no idea where my boat is, it was hopefully moved last weekend to a floating pontoon, either that or it’s sunk/floated away/ been nicked. was going to go down today but the weather was just nasty and I didn’t fancy driving down
  12. Presumably they have slackers or sluices? they could open them? would be better than nowt?
