  1. Hi all,

I'd like to let you know that my boat, Moonlight, a seamaster 27, is now up for sale. Jon at Wayford  Bridge is handling the sale, and has the boat on his web page. If anybody is interested, then please give him a call on 01692 582555, or if you have any questions, then please ask me. Ok all, thanks for the attention, have a good day.

  2. Hiya Bob and Liberty,

Certainly seems to be the way to go, and the best so far. At the moment it's a toss up of either the Dual Lock tape, or the silicon filled screw through the cabin roof. Decisions decisions eh. Many thanks to you all.

  3. Hiya StillCruising, Your fixing sounds pretty good to me, and tell me, is all still ok with the strips, haven't pulled off etc ? The corners that you mention are the same as I have, albeit the solar panel is only a 40W unit.

  4. Many thanks all. I'm beginning to think that maybe it's not such a good idea after all i.e., just in case I need to remove it at a later date. Maybe I should revert back to my original plan to use screws to hold down the supports, at least I can always fill the holes after, or, is there something else that you can come up with.

  5. Hi all, am I right in thinking that Sikaflex-221 is the one to use to stick my solar panel supports to my cabin roof. To be honest I've looked at quite a few others, but Sikaflex seems to be the one. Many thanks.

  6. Hi all,

Could you tell me please, a good mains battery charger, ( to charge two 110A Leisure Batteries ) while I'm on my boat at my mooring. I've read about quite a few now, but the 'C-Tec' charger seems to be a good one, am I right, or is there a cheaper one that fits the bill. When not on the boat, a solar panel with regulator, will charge these batteries.

    Many thanks in advance.

  7. One sound I love to hate, is the sound of large diesel engines first thing in the morning ( 5.45am) I was a driver you see, until I retired a few years ago. Now I can just lay there and smile, especially on a bitter morning with the wind blowing. Do I feel guilty, not on your nellie lol.

  8. Hiya Ray & Carole,

Really sorry peeps, but I started a new topic, "Tolls" and didn't realise you'd already started one, so sorry for that. If I can find out how to delete a topic, I'll go ahead and do it, sorry again.

  9. Just had a shock, my new Tolls have just been sent to me via eMail. Has the time really gone that fast ?, and I do believe they've gone up again. This year I've been asked to pay £277.09, quite a bit more than last year. Well, bite the bullet and pay up, or I don't use the boat again, simples really.

  10. My last two dogs were chipped, from about 8 weeks to be exact, well my Lurcher was, but my Greyhound came already chipped when I collected him. Sadly, they're both gone now, the last one , the Lurcher, about 6 months ago, and do I miss them ?  bet your bottom dollar I do.

  11. Hiya Griff, many thanks for that. Between you and MBA, I think I may have cracked it, albeit that I'll only be getting just the one pump and fittings. This'll give me something to do instead of just lazing around doing nothing eh

  12. Just had a thought. What if I pore some resin into a small area of the bilge, thus making the bottom a bit thicker, and then using the screws supplied, screw both the pump and the switch , on to that, or is that too easy ?

  13. Many thanks for the comments so far peeps, but now, I'd like to ask. How do I fix the pump etc to the bottom of the boat. The lowest point of the bilge is in fact at the bottom of the keel, and the keel is quite narrow from what I can remember. Would I use glue, screw it to the floor, and risk drilling right through the hull, or is there an easy way that's hiding from me.

  14. Hi all, I've actually put a similar request on the other Broads site, concerned about the use of bilge pumps. I intend fitting one , but to be honest, there are so many out there that it's a bit disconcerting. Does anyone have any thoughts about their use, and possibly models to dismiss. I have been told about a certain model, good actually, so have an idea of buying it. I thought it would be a good idea to get a second opinion so to speak.

  15. Hello Frank mate. I'm totally in agreement with you. All I want to do now with the boat, is to fix a Solar Panel on, purely to charge my starter battery when I'm not there, i.e. winter months. My sleeping arrangements are in the sharp end with my trusty sleeping bag, my toilet arrangements are in the using of a manual Port Potti. My water supply is mainly from out of bottles, as my water tank may be a bit iffy, cooking, well yes, I have a gas cooker, 2 rings, an oven and a grill, and I occasionally use a 12v tv, but I must say, I do prefer to just sit in the cockpit with my whisky and dry ginger, and to just listen and watch the world going to sleep. Heaven. Now, I can't wait to get back. lol.

All the best Frank/Judi, see you around eh.
