  1. it was 1966, a family holiday on Rippling Tide, I was just a joung lad and have fond memories of holidays on a number of boats from then on. The journey was always fun, leaving home in Liverpool at about 3 in the morning and stopping for bacon butties cooked at the side of the road - I understand that Dad had a Ford Anglia in 1966 - one of the round ones. I think Rippling Tide is still going. Broads holidays became a favorite with my family and we're looking forward to a return in 2015.
  2. Thanks for the many thoughts. I tend to agee with SteveandDeb that if it floats and moves then thats what its all about - but 'The Boss' likes her comforts so the little extras on Jasmine Emblem i.e. 240v hook up may be the deciding factor. The other winner is hiring from a boatyard that wants to look after us - and it looks like Ferry are ahead here. !!!
  3. We are planning a return to the broads in 2015 and have either Beam of Light or Jasmine Emblem at the top of our list. Essentially the same boat but different boatyards and around £100 difference in price - Ferry being more expensive but seemingly the better specified boat but the Herbert Woods boats were original Brooms built so may be a better quality. So forum friends, which is the better deal?? Thanks Dave
  4. Clive, I'm enjoying the posts on the development of this boat as well as the RC45. I was wondering, having suffered some chilly evenings on the broads - and knowing of the benefits on canal boats, are you ever likely to spray foam insulate your boats? and keep up the very good work! Dave
  5. Have enjoyed this thread - some wonderful work - well done! Having had a few chilly nights on the broads and known of the joys of well insulated canal boats do you, or are you ever likely to, use spray foam to insulate your boats?? Dave
