Outboard Pitch Help

Help

I seem to spend half my time adjusting the angle of the outboard on my Broom Scorpio.

It is a mariner 20hp with electric lift and normally has two in the front seats.

In simple terms what angle should it be at in relation to the transom to give a smooth ride.

Should it be set to the transom angle or what else as the bow will lift easily at 5mph.

I keep it under 5mph.

Thanks.

Don't know much about outboards but it is the propellor that counts. If the prop wash is trying to break the surface behind you, it is pitched up too high, but if you pitch it too low you will start to go bow down and it will be more difficult to steer. I would suggest starting with the down shaft of the outboard at right angles to the water and adjust from there.

I am fairly new to outboard so I went onto the internet when I got my boat with the same outboard.
If you search " outboard trim setting" there are lots of articles on whats the best way to get it right.

I should really read before posting and get the grammar sorted.
