Perrapin N531

Whilst visiting Sandwich in Kent this afternoon, we spotted Brooms Boat Perrapin N531 at the bottom of a slip. Looking absolutely immaculate viewed from across the river. Still sporting her Broads registration number, it looks as though she has recently had some work carried  out.

Perrapin returned to the Thames after her full hull refit, in March 2018. She had most of her planking below the waterline replaced, many ribs either doubled or completely replaced, her stem and forefoot repaired, and all seams traditionally caulked and puttied before priming and painting. The keel too was completely overhauled including replacement of all keel bolts so that it could be drawn back up tight. Works were carried out by Jacksons (father and son), of Faversham, Kent.

Sadly after eleven years of ownership we are saying farewell to Perrapin, confident that we have given her a new lease of life. She is a very special boat and we have been privileged to have been a part of her life. We wish her new owners all the joy, satisfaction and happiness she has given us.  Adieu old friend!
