A Week in May

so we decide to have a wander round the village get a paper from the bridge stores and meet Caroline from Roseys Tea Rooms who tells us she will be open at 7.30 so we go back to the boat and have another brew and watch the daft ducks squabling over bits of bread they are finding floating about as we listen to Heart radio weather forcast good and going to be another warm one . We go over to Carolines and have a full english the food here is excellent and have a long chat with her and a couple also having breakfast we say our goodbyes and head for the shop a few bits and pieces and set of for the boat a quick check over the weed filter and dip the oil alls ok and the enourmous bathtub that woke me last night had already gone and we diddnt see it again hoooray

so we head for Norwich we see a house being worked on near the river and will post some pics and some more pics ofthe journey we seem very quiet on the Yare not many peeps about at all now the shop at the marina short of Brundall has gone theres not much chance of supplies any more till you get into Norwich we slow at Golden Light and see Jill but she off out so we carry on up to the Yacht station and get in at the 1st mooring near the ranger station office so we go pay for the night get chatting about the lads in Loddon so he takes details and says he will pass it on we both shower at the yacht station and change and go walk about round the city do a little shopping and have fish and chips for tea the Tesco Express is handy near the water so we get essentias on our way back and settle for the night with a can or two and a bit of Tvpost-130-136713711073_thumb.jpgpost-130-136713711084_thumb.jpgpost-130-136713711089_thumb.jpg

it was a quiet night in Norwich and up early again lol to a nice strong brew and bacon butties with a few choice mushrooms wash up and tidy up fill up with water a quick look over the engine and we make tracks about 9am a steady saunter down to Reedham and moor outside the lord nelson which was closed due to a funeral according to the BA ranger so we decide to go to the Berney Arms and have steak and kidney pudding with the usual trimmings and realy enjoyed it we thought the mixed grill at £22 was a bit pricey good choice of beers on tap as well

so we time it just right to run with the tide to Yarmouth and moor at the Yacht station for a couple of hours get a Taxi on to the front have a play on the slots and get some Greggs for tea lol walk back to the boat and its 6pm the tides turned and coming in fast so we go with the flow and seem to fly up to the Stracy moorings sun in our eyes phew thanks for the sunglasses so we moor for the night here and have fun feeding the Donkeys empty a few cans and settle for the night

another beautifull morning sun out and warm a nice brew of tea and a few slices of bread for the donkeys a quick engine check all fine so we get sorted a bacon buttie and another brew and off we go we deide to go to stalham for supplys and a quick look round rickos yard see if we can see clive but not many peeps around so we go to the staith and get in nicely backwards and moor while we go to tescos and do a shop only a 5 mins walk from the staith so very easy April does a detour and goes shopping in the factory outlet store while i make my way back and get lunch on well sald sarnies for a change April arrives back with 1/2 the shop and we make a move down to barton then to Neatishead staith for the night just getting a nice breeze so we have a nap for an hour being woken by the QE2 trying to get down the dyke lol and they did it nicely to be fair so we get up shower and changed and go for a meal at the white horse as the saddelry is now closed was a good value meal and good beer so we stay for a couple of pints and walk back to the boat and sit out downing a few cans on the bench at the end of the staithpost-130-136713722796_thumb.jpgpost-130-136713722816_thumb.jpgpost-130-13671372282_thumb.jpg

rumble thunder lol two claps in the night and heavy rain for 10 mins but the morning clear and dry with a few clouds about still warm though engine checks and bacon eggs and tomatoes for breaky with thick cut toast and a cuppa we use bottled water for the kettle as the norfolk water is a bit to limey for me we decide to go back under potters today to get to the pleasure boat for tea so we do a steady run from the moorings to the ant and bure to thurn mouth where there seems to be a lot of sailey activity we spot sue and robins boat moored at the 24 hr moorings so we moor just infront and have a chat with sue as robin is assisting with the sailey thing going on but he retuns shortly and we chat and have a play with the dogs love the labradoodle shes so daft lol wd say our goodbyes and head for the lion at thurn for lunch plenty of space down the dyke we get moored and walk to the pubpost-130-13671372616_thumb.jpgpost-130-136713726175_thumb.jpgpost-130-136713726463_thumb.jpgpost-130-136713726468_thumb.jpgpost-130-136713726473_thumb.jpgpost-130-136713726477_thumb.jpgpost-130-136713726482_thumb.jpg

forgot to say how brilliant the rhodadendrans looked at how hill
