pks1702
Being built to a very high quality by a professional yard. What a shame these go to Europe and not the UK. Maybe some real investment by forward thinking Hire Yards would see a more attractive 'product' to a new audience and help arrest the decline? Guest
Hi Perry we had a look at these boat on Saturday dint see nobody around Silver Line I think if they put a couple on the Broad people would definitely book these boats in a hurry if at a reasonable price not OTT. pks1702
Hi Jonny, This one is being built by Goodchild Marine, they seem to be producing circa 1 a month. Quality of finish is stunning. Acres of space inside plus a large sundeck when the weather is good! NeilB
Kris Cruisers have had some of these for hire for a while now, the first one was delivered in 2001 just before I left. http://www.kriscruisers.co.uk/holiday-c ... talia.html http://www.kriscruisers.co.uk/holiday-c ... alise.html http://www.kriscruisers.co.uk/holiday-c ... abeth.html The Thames is not so restrictive on bridge height as the Broads though, until you get to Oxford the lowest bridge is over 12ft. pks1702
Nice links Neil at least Kris have had some foresight. Clearly these craft would not go through Potter and Wroxham but nor do many Broads cruisers.
senator
Maybe totaly barking up the wrong tree here but seem to remember reading something a year or so ago about maximum allowable width on our rivers, think the broads is 13', apparantly european waterways allow wider boats and it is for this reason that most manufacturers make for the continent instead of the UK, it is just not economical to put down development tooling for the comparativly small number of boats that the UK represents when it is then not possible to sell them abroad, because the hire companys want wider boats. Spotted the boat that Perry posted over the new year and it does look very nice indeed. Ian
