A Christmas Eve Cruise

Recommended Posts

‘Twas the night before Christmas and we were afloat,

Enjoying hot chocolate onboard the boat.

The crisp winter morning and  lights on the tree,

Made everything seem so very Christmassy.

Buddy was tucked up snug in his dog bed,

Dreaming of walkies and being well fed.

Grandad was having a sneaky snooze too,

Whilst the rest of us enjoyed the breathtaking view.

We saw a beautiful kingfisher perched in a tree,

Then suddenly we all shouted out in glee.

Out of the corner of our eyes what did appear?

One of father Christmas’s Chinese water rein-deer.

We had our lunch onboard as swans swam by,

Sausage rolls, sandwiches and a crumble mince pie.

After enjoying all these christmassy yummies,

We took a short stroll to help our full tummies.

On our cruise back we all had to agree,

There was no other place we would rather be.

Than on the beautiful broads on the Sally Marie,

Enjoying happy times with lovely family.

Wishing everyone a merry Christmas.

Have you been out a while as I saw you weren’t at home base a week or so back.
Wonderful poem. Xx

Hi Kate,

we were out before the freeze, and on return moored on the ponderosa to have a little job done in the gas locker for BSS inspection and got frozen in!

have a lovely Christmas and hope to see you out again soon. Xx
