We have a Perkins engine that runs lovely but need some advice on heat exchanger and not sure if anybody else has the same problem.

We always check oil and water before we move on and the heat exchanger always needs a cup of water every time. Can’t find a leaky pipe etc.

Not overly concerned just curious if anybody has any suggestions .

Thanks

Yes, it’s normal expansion of the coolant when it gets up to operating temperature. It’s got nowhere to go so the cap will lift allowing some out. We had the same issue on our Beta

Cure - fit a remote expansion tank. Worked for us, see our TLC thread for photos etc
