Herbert Woods together with the other hire companies offering discounts may get some of their craft out on the Broads even if the weather remains on the poor side. If they stick to the offer for July & August and the weather turns they will be very busy, at the end of the day it is better for the hire opperators to get some cash flow rather than have their boats laid up earning nothing.

These days the yards do not offer the same out of season long weekend (four days) that they used to. It also used to be the same on the canals, many years ago a 10 berth narrow boat cost us £300 for the week plus security deposit plus fuel, the same boat for a four day out of season £60 all in.

If the yards could do it then, why not now.

We all know the standard hire costs these days it was because of these that we decided to buy into a boat share.

Regards

Alan
