Hockham Admiral
Following on from another topic, I thought it might be helpful if we post actual heights we see under the bridges (and the state of tide) as we pass by in the next few months. If you're not too sure about the tide then just give the height and time and day and we can work out the relationship with LW/HW. e.g. Reedham Swing, 21st June,10ft 4ins, LW+0.30mins, (or 10ft 4ins at 13.32 on the 21st June) We can build this into a pretty comprehensive planner for us all.
Guest
That's a good idea. We wanted to build a live data feed by scraping the EA website, but helpfully it only shows the data as at 6am each day... Not much good for our purpose! I live in hope that we will someday be able to provide something more useful than the river level once a day! It's even more frustrating than that, the river levels are recorded continuously on the EA graphs, but the data is only uploaded once a day, so we get accurate minute by minute history of air draughts ! As the level stations are primarilly flood warnings, I'd be surprised if the cellphone diallers didn't update the central computer much more frequently. http://apps.environment-agency.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels/120580.aspx?RegionId=1&AreaId=2&CatchmentId=
