I'm Hiring a Boat from WRC !!

Yes, with the Bank Holiday Weekend weather looking Nice.

I booked ( Online ) Waveney River Centre's `Skipper` for the Day on Sunday.

What i found so easy and quick, was the online booking you choose the date ( this was one day in advance ) and it shows you the boats they have available.

I paid credit card, all booked up in about 2 mins Great system James has running.

What a lovely Sunday we all had.

We were able to collect from 9.30 in the morning.

All very smooth hand over, as we had bought our own life jackets.

A explanation of how everything works on the boat, then we were off.

It was nice to drive a boat without a outdrive, we were able to stern on moor at Beccles

Also the usual left right motion, was not present, this was one hell of a good day boat.

Rachel brewed up the Tea on the way to Beccles.

THere was plenty of space, and a little galley.

A really good layout, with a little more space than the American boats ive been abourd.

With a Nanni Diesel engine, it sounded smooth and not too noisy.

On Arrival at Beccles, we moored up at the Yacht Station and went to see the Harbour Master to pay the mooring fee.

Explaining that the boat was hired from WRC, the mooring was free

We went for a lovely walk along the river bank on the other side of the low bridge (that im not sure if we could have made it under as the river was very high )

We then went onto Oulton Broad, to Find it Was Power Boat Racing day !!!

We had to stick to the far left of the broad, which was a little tight at times.

Power boat racing stated at about 3.30 and it was fantastic. what a experience, we were so close to the action. With all the high speed racing, the broad became very choppy.

We began our trip back, along the side of the broad with power boats racing along beside us as we left, a truly stunning experience.

even tho we was based south for a couple years i have neva been to beccles by river & I have to say its stunning as we have always gone to oulton broad.

Can anyone who has hired ' Skipper' tell me if there is an oven on board, I realise there is a hob had planned to do Pizza for lunch but if no oven will have to have a rethink. Will take my own saucepan for the hot soup as going to be cold.
