  1. So what about the Stag/Hen party who arrive with boxes of beer

on trolleys from Roys/Lathams and may already have had a few

whilst awaiting the boat's readiness? Dancing on the cabin roofs

as soon as they arrive and causing mayhem because they can't

moor outside the pub due to the moorings being full already. One

guy walked out the rear door of their hire boat for a 'jimmy riddle'

and went straight into the river and couldn't get out because he was

so pi**ed. If it hadn't been for friends of ours being on their boat, he

would have drowned. He did stop breathing after he was rescued but

fortunately the paramedics had arrived by then. This is not an isolated

incidence either, having witnessed several of those over the last few

years, but it is OK to hire to these people? I know which I think are safer.

  2. Sorry MM, but that is not overstated at all!

I agree with Grainside. We live in Stamford, Lincolnshire, and it is

much the same as Boston. Walking down the street, it seems that

about 70% of the spoken word is in a foreign language. It's no

longer the town we knew and as such we will be moving this year.

I could add a lot more but would probably get modded......

Sorry for keeping this off topic...:default_cool:

  3. Here's a question for you all. Maybe someone can answer it :default_cool:

JP proclaimed that the 'new' toll structure would encourage

more small boats to The Broads  with the newer, lower tolls

for that catagory. Did that happen or, dare I say it, that was

just another of his 'smoke screens' to 'justify' the increases

for the majority of us? Anyone know the numbers for each?

  4. Make 'um wait! Why should they get the interest on 'Our' money.

For the little interest we get, I'm having it! (Not them Pike! :default_biggrin:)

Besides, she's still in the workshops and likely to be for a few weeks yet :4_joy:

  5. For those of us that keep an eye on nature, the Skylark at the back of our house has now started his singing, the Blackbirds are fighting over who's garden it is and some of the Cuckoo's have already started their migration back to the UK a few weeks early:-

    Cuckoos

The indications of an early spring are there but there's still time for a brief cold spell.
