Can't help with the A11 as we usually go A140 but we have a season ticket to the loo at Long Stratton, there's also a patch of grass and a poop bin for dog- emptying!

I remember us getting a lift in Winkle's van (Bedford?) back to the mooring because none of us could walk - including him! For some reason the sliding passenger door was jammed open - happy days.

Sitting on the running board outside the pub with a bottle of Vimto and bag of crisps with blue bag of salt.(I wasn't allowed in the car because I fiddled with things - good job it had a starting handle!)

I do as Alan does - turn around the post then hand to crew saying something like "I'll leave you to finish off as we've all got our favourite way of tying up". Sometimes I end up teaching them a clove hitch tho'.

Couldn't agree more, Happy. The best bit was the Stern Post article which served to underline how much AA had lost touch with what should be their core readership. RIP indeed.

Confession time: Some years ago on an early November 'lads' week we got stuck in the White Horse for two pints longer than we should have and had to navigate from just past Paddy's Lane to Wayford by torch! Did I mention there was only a (very) new moon? We didn't actually hit anything but there were some buttock clenching moments.

MM - The New Inn is (free) ticket only, Sutton Staithe has a big bash 'out the back',also ticket only, but I think the bar is open to all. We'll be up for NYD lunch at the Staithe, which has become a tradition for us.
