Welcome from us too, were just across the other border!
-
Congratulations Robin - when will you be issued with the uniform ratting cap and whippet on a string?

Small world Bobdog! I moved to the 'Stowe in 84 - we may well have propped the same bar up lol.

A solar vent was one of the first upgrades we did to No Worries, its in the hatch over the forward berth and has been happily spinning for 4 years now. The bearing is getting a bit noisy now but when it packs up it'll definitely be replaced by another one.
-
JM - down here they're called platchers - very handy for digging a bucket of lugworm. Although when I used to play on the Deben and Orwell we had a special scrubbing brush " Oops, quick someone get over and scrub the boottopping!"

Mr. Tilney is (is he still with us?) a good old boy, back when I was allowed to make holes in pieces of paper he did some cracking work on one of my pistols.

We use tank water for everything, like others we wash the first couple of feet of hose before filling. We chuck an aqua tab in when we think of it - maybe every other big fill. No I'll effects yet, I think.

Were paying £36 a foot (plus VAT,of course) think the service charge for 'Lecky is £75 on top. We've been there for four years now and love the place!

Paul - love the Pic, I'll have to show it to my mate the tattoo artist, he does quite well out of cover ups and amendments!
-
Geoff - I too loved my old Tiger Cub, I've still got a tank badge somewhere waiting to be made into a belt buckle. It was very useful for fetching parts for the T120!

Sorry for the thread drift but I had a great conversation with a stall holder at the last Suffolk boatjumble. "How much for the two rhond hooks mate?" "What's a rhond hook?", " These"(waving them about) "Quid for the two alright?" I took him up on it - seemed rude to haggle. Result!!

He's posted some cracking photographs and videos on his Facebook page.

Monica, commiserations on your health problems. Rumour has it that Sutton Staithe will soon have a weekender available to go with their dayboats - maybe worth giving Robert a bell on 01692 581653.

I also always get out of the way when the wherries are racing - especially on a Sunday morning in Horning

You mean there are boats with televisions on them? There's posh!

Just a thought - did you get all the broken off bits of impeller out? There could be a vane floating about in there intermittently blocking a water passage.
-
Welcome back guys, glad you had a good 'un. Booked next one yet??
-
Sorry for the thread drift, but we saw you about Sunday and Monday, Captain - nice looking boat, sir.

Its handy to use different colour wiring sometimes - soon after we bought No Worries I thought it'd be useful to have a 12v socket on the dashboard. Opened the handy hatch in the bog to reveal the backside of the console to discover a previous owner was either a football fan or had a big drum of domestic earth cable to use up - it was a symphony of green and yellow! 3 days later upside down with an AVOmeter and two drums of black and red it was looking a bit better. Youve got to love the great British bodger! At least I know all the connectors are sound

Mark - I'm pretty sure the hire firms have a waiver on CEVNI - as long as the yard guy is happy after the handover off you jolly well go!

When Her Majesty bought my deckies it was Seabago Docksides, now they come from Aldi at under £20!! work for me lol

Rincewind - we usually plot up at Acle Bridge either Friday evening or early Saturday, festoon the off side with spare fenders and take the keys out til pm Sunday - bliss! (Unless Phil runs out of beer)
-
JM - a mate has just put one in his flat. He's not very techy so next time i see him I'll see how its going and report back. I gather its more visual than a heat source.

There are showers at Thurne Lion too - very handy for rehydration afterwards!
