  1. In between Wrexham and Chester not far from the A55 ,We are regular visitors to Anglesey in the summer months .
  2. Great only ten days to wait now, we are now making the trip from North Wales the day before and have booked a room in Norwich..
  3. http://thebikesmith.co/spank-bitch-stick-bars-2014 If you wanted another set
  4. Thanks guys for the suggestions but booked a couple of rooms in the Mecure Norwich they had an accessible room available and I just wanted to get somewhere booked as its a busy weekend and rooms were filling up as I was looking at them, not the best I know but its close enough to Horning for us and it was cheapish so one more to do thing ticked off the list...
  5. Anywhere that we can get a meal in the evening will be good, prefer something not in Norwich itself though and somewhere that has parking onsite due to wife being in a wheelchair..
  6. Just finalising things for our upcoming visit on the 29th, we are dropping our cat off at the cattery at miday the day before so the wife has suggested travelling across that afternoon and staying the night in a hotel, the thinking behind this is the roads hopefully will be quieter than the bank holiday Monday, we can spend Monday morning visiting Norwich ,a city I've never been to and generally taking it easy ,stocking up on supplies before heading to the boat yard, it saves getting up at silly o clock as well which is a bonus as I don't generally sleep to well the night before a holiday or trip away, can anyone suggest a hotel within half an hours drive of Horning that does food as well?? Thanks
  7. I get the same message ,had to go to YouTube to watch it
  8. The swan is option number two for a second night
  9. Thanks for all the info, think we will avoid the Ferry then , the New Inn sounds OK , we are hoping to moor back at Ferry marina afternoon some time but I'll have a chat with the guys and girls there to see if this is possible if not I'll give the New inn a ring and see if we can book a mooring, it will be bank holiday Monday so not sure if this will be possible, we are determined to spend at least on night there as its one place we have never been able to moor at in the past
  10. That will be fine ,she is not wheelchair bound so can walk a few steps if I can get her near the toilets in her chair , some places we have visited have toilets upstairs so tend to avoid these, Sadly I think this may be her last trip so hoping to make the most of it and visit all the places we missed the last time..
  11. Yay been looking forward to the next update, that's my Friday morning lie in sorted , two episode's to watch now, I must say Robin these last few blogs are looking very polished and professional ,well done they must take up a great deal of your time to put them all together, great choice of music by the way on the previous ones..
  12. Its going to be bank holiday Monday so think I'd better phone ahead and book a table.
  13. Thanks Grace good to know they have a ramp, wife should be OK to walk up a few steps but gets fatigued easily so maybe after our long journey and getting the boat sorted out she may be in her chair for the evening.
  14. Hi quick question to all you regular pub visitors, we are starting from Horning this year but also have family staying in one of Ferry Marina's property's so the plan was to venture out for a few hours and then return to Horning for the evening to meet up with the family for a meal and a few drinks , just wondering which pub would you recommend? Would prefer a quieter more eating type of establishment if that makes sense ,also needs to be wheel chair friendly, never managed to moor at Horning on any of our visits in the past so unsure which is our best option , also are they all within walking/pushing distance from Ferry's yard.
  15. First one was on the southern rivers with a boat from Alpha craft ,Alpha swift to be precise, be interested to know what happened to this after the sad demise of the hire fleet, hopefully its still out and about in the hands of another company or maybe a private buyer, the last couple of times have been on the northern rivers ,the last one in 2004 on Fair Diplomat that we weren't confident enough to try and get under Ludham bridge, we have Golden Emblem this time so hopefully we should be able to squeeze under as we would love to explore the Ant , boat choice is a bit tricky for us as the wife suffers from MS so has limited mobility and needs something easy to get on and off and preferably with a flat floor, Diplomat was a bit of a silly choice really due to the steps up to the door and steps down to the saloon plus the ones down to both cabins, hoping Golden emblem is a lot easier for her this time as her condition has worsened over the last year or so, can't wait now only four and a bit weeks to go...
  16. everyone, counting down the days now , my father and the inlaws have rented one of the cottages from Ferry marina at the same time so they will be joining us on the boat a couple of times so we can show them the sights, had to change the boat we booked though due to the original one only being licensed to carry four persons, oh well at least we will have plenty of space when there is just the two of us
  17. Long time lurker but first time posting , myself and the wife will be back on the broads at the end of May starting from Ferry Marina ,this will be our fourth trip in recent years after a long break away, we got the bug again after watching all of Robin's great blogs...
