  1. If only.Dont think that will happen. GYBC are supposed  to be taking to people at Hemsby  today.Don't think there put there hands in there pockets. If on the other hand, the press are there There make all sorts of promises.

tragically, a lot of people think they can control or mitigate nature, King Cnut tried it (actually he was demonstrating to those that served him that nature ignores even kings) and a lot of those in power should take note.

whatever is done will only be a losing battle against nature, if you do manage to solve a problem at one location, it will only move it elsewhere, nature will always win.

a lot of the issues though are caused by the attempts to subvert nature, the problem gets  moved.

rather than trying to prevent nature doing what it does best, the authorities should be concentrating on helping those people who need help- relocating or whatever,.

down here on the south coast, a whole lighthouse was jacked up and moved 20m inland due to the cliffs crumbling.

Agree in part, buy to do nothing  is nothing. At least  to do something  is something. To do something  is what people  in Hemsby  and many places elsewhere  is what that want.

  3. I am so annoyed  at the lack of concern and help, people are considered in Hemsby.I went to a meeting in February. Not long after storms had washed many yards of dunes out to sea.People were homeless. They were told when they brought  there houses .They would be safe for at least  50 years. And that was not many years ago.Is it to much to ask those in power to at least tray for some solutions to this I amount not an easy fix.But to do nothing will only make matters worse.

Dredging? Where Ian, I presume out at sea.

Hemsby is an enourmous concern which should require more focused attention. A disaster happening, now, today, tonight, and for tomorrow.

If there is no consideration for the NOW. What hope is there for the future?

The dredging  yes at sea, which according  to fisherman who have fished all there life there life.Have said that has not helped with the coastline.

  5. I too remember  seeing a plan to allow  parts of the broads to flood from the sea Really. And yes Hemsby   like  many other coasts not only here but other parts of the World. Have suffered. That said dredging  has not helped.

  6. If they care  as much about the broads,as they do about Hemsby We have a problem. THIS weekend like many  other storm hit days. The only ones working(without pay),restoring the beach, reconnecting water to properties are the Lifeboat  crew volunteers  and locals. The Politicians like the sound  of there own voice. What they need is less talk and more action.

  7. As a now retired  Chef.Nearly all my working life I was underpaid.I am highly skilled.Just like skilled builders, Electrians, plumbers. Etc.Covid highlighted certain things. Many Chefs were layed  off. Many found other jobs ;better paid and socialable hours.Since we've  moved up here  I found to be Frank many of the menus are the same with little imagination.

  8. Speaking  with local fisherman, who have fished all there life at sea. They believe  drudgeing has added to the problem.I still can't get over the fact that only the Lifeboat  crew, volunteers  and local are the only ones fighting  hard to safe what's left  of the beach and dunes.

  11. I think I've posted about my COPD in recent  months. I've also had problems  with my Prostate  and pains in my sides and Stomach. I saw a Consultant  this morning. He said my Prostate  was not Cancerous, but my PSA was still a little  high.So will see him January. Also have done the bowel screening  test and will need further  tests. And if that's not enough. Zac my Cancer  Consultant  phoned me this afternoon. His seen my CT and MRI scans.Theres problems  in lungs,  spine head and Stomach. He is waiting  for reports then make a plan which may be more Radiotherapy. I said what ever it takes. Not the news I welcome, but will take it as it comes.
