  1. Glad to see the back of 2014,things can only improve!

In 2014 i abandoned one project boat and acquired another lesser one, less length, less old and a lot less work!

2015 will bring a lot more sailing and hopefully a lot less boat maintenance. The remains of winter and the spring will be spent getting the boat ready for a long-planned trip up the coast from Essex to the Broads for an extended water based 'glamping' holiday( could hardly be anything else on a Leisure17!),probably 3 or 4 weeks.

Hopefully I'll some other forum members on my trip and put faces to names!

Happy New Year to you all

  2. Thanks,i thought that would be the case but always worth checking!

While on the subject of mud weighting, what would be an appropriate size of mud weight for a 17' sailing boat?

    Thanks again

  3. Hi all

Am currently getting my Leisure17 ready for the spring and hopefully a week or six on the Broads in the summer.

Am currently( no pun intended!) sorting the electrics and wondered if an anchor(all-round white) light is required when mud weighting/wild mooring? I have all the other navigation lights in the highly unlikely event of wishing to cruise at night.

    Thanks

  4. As previously posted,i think on reflection we may possibly be seeing a cause for concern where none exists.

However,a little more info won't go amiss.

There are locking stair gates, top and bottom and a working smoke alarm.

The lock is a barrel bolt,as used on toilet doors.

The child is toilet trained but does need help with the paperwork!

The reason for the lock is to prevent him disturbing other family members(inc mum and dad) in the night.

Our concerns were based on the possibility of the child being unwell/getting distressed in the night and being unable to summon help/comfort.

I apologise to all those that feel i should not have posted this on this particular forum,i was under the impression 'the lounge' was anything goes.

    Thanks

  5. My wife and i have(as yet unconfirmed) suspicions that a friend has fitted a lock to the outside of her 4 year old son's bedroom door, apparently because he wakes in the night.

We are not happy and very concerned about this.

If our suspicions are proved correct, what should we do?

Is it illegal? should we get social services involved?

In all other respects, the child is happy, healthy, well fed and clothed.

    Advice/opinions welcome

    Thanks
