  1. I am sorry I have only skimmed the other posts, so these have probably been mentioned:

I have a 4 & 6 year old who have been going to the broads all of there life’s.

They love the campsite feel of the River Waveney Centre and the pool and play park there.

The Lido at Beccles is also a MASSIVE hit.

We always try go to Bewilderwood. Great
for them to have a break and spend the day off the boat. It’s easy to get to from the northern rivers, but maybe not so from the south.

The park at Oulton broad is big, perfect for letting of some steam.

  2. When we returned the boat on Saturday and went to get our fuel refund and pay the pilot fee for Wroxham, they commented that almost every boat returning had been through wroxham bridge!!!

  3. Here's the Station Smokehouse takeaway menu. We enjoyed a meal sitting at their outside tables on 4th July.

We also had a lovely meal at Pedro's Acle yesterday, again sitting at their outside tables. We were the only ones there at lunchtime.

We watch you sail past Thurne Dyke yesterday!

Probably on your way to Pedros.

  4. Sorry I've been trying not to use mobile the last day or so as to conserve battery
We had too much wind Sunday and also Monday morning, we waited until midday before setting off.
To be fair Malcolm, you were moored in a particularly wooded stretch (lovely mooring by the way). I don't think you spotted us motoring past this morning before 9. Winds were very light today, though we did manage to sail most of the way down the Bure and up the Thurne back to the Yard. Reasons for going back to the Yard: rain forecast for the rest of the day, need to get plugged into the 'lekky' to recharge mobiles etc., but also, we are thinking of getting under 'the bridge' tomorrow, and the Yard isn't that far from Potter.

Mind you, the rivers seem quite high. We might not get under.

This rain has killed the wind off somewhat!

Enjoy going the other side of the bridge. I miss it.

  5. I’m the lady of the house and in nearly 40 years of boating I can honestly say I have never used an iron on board. And before any smart so and so quips that it is probably the other half who uses it, he doesn’t know one end of the iron from the other!

I am with you! Why would you....

I try to avoid the things at home too!

  6. I miss getting under the bridge and up to Horsey. I also would love to visit the Nelson Head.

We haven’t made it to those parts since changing to hiring motor boats instead of sail.

  7. Coltishall common was completely full when we passed at about 3.30pm.

Haveing said that, if a few of them

pulled up you could have got 3/4 more boats on.

  8. Not really wanting attractions as such that will mean large crowds.

We always do bewilderwood, it doesn’t open until the 18th July BUT we wouldn’t go at the moment even if it was.

Nice walks, and good old fashioned swings and slides keep them happy and let them burn off excessive energy from being on board.

I think we know of, and have visited all the parks, on every river other than the Yare! 🤣
