  1. Spot on Mike yes every body has to learn but when you've invested thousands of pounds in your pride and joy only for someone to damage it and dont give a toss.

The education should be done on hand over not when its to late and damage is being done.

Its getting to the stage were your on constant meet cat look out.

    really does spoil the enjoyment.

    Rant over Regards John

  2. Really wouldn't want our dog swiming about in that crap discharged  out of the yachts etc. They really do small after!  As will the boat.

The risk of ear infections etc very likely

There are great beaches, Sea Palling, Waxham etc, all dog friendly (take a run in the car ) the dog will love it in the shallows

  3. Hi Eric

Having  had 6 very enjoyable years of Evening Shadow boat share  (limited holidays and kids to think about) we are now on to our 4th own boat in 12 years.

I think if your friend can only do 3 weeks on his own boat he will finish up on a cleaning holiday on every visit.

I think you will need to be able to use a boat for a min of 5/6 weeks of use to make a full boat ownership worth it. But have a major advantage of going to use the boat at short notice and when it suites you.

£3K to £4k mooring and maitainance budget annualy  if all in running order without upgrades needed.

    hope that helps

    Regards John

  5. Hi Steve we had experience of this with one of our past boats (falcon 27 cabriole 1994) with a Volvo MD 22 engine., with relatively low hours (600)

White smoke, small amount when warm and worst when more revs or cold weather.

I was told from a very experienced engine guy beginning with J it goes with the engine as this type was originally fitted to Oyster yachts and they had the same trouble from new!

  6. Definatly recommend the Karcher window vac very handy piece of kit.

they have got the balance of it just right when using it, and it's half the price it was a couple of years ago, so probably not worth getting the cheaper versions.

oh and the battery lasts for ages enough to do a week cruise I would think

    regards John

  7. Having always been a lager lout I have recently started to try the lighter  IPA type beers that's seem to be getting more common.  My favourites at the moment are Adnams Ghost ship and Redwells Steam lager which is more of a beer than a lager and defiantly worth a try and found in the best pub on the broads at the moment White horse Neatishead.

    Regards John
