  1. Having read the document it would seem, as Strowager has said, that a safety review took place and concluded that very little needed to change.

I think it wise that when such powerful craft are racing adjacent to other craft that such a review is regularly made.

I used to love cruising past the race on my return to my mooring and am pleased to see that it will continue as before.

  2. For the first time in my voting life, I really wish there was a "none of the above" option.

It's often been a difficult choice in the past, but it's bl**dy impossible now.

    Absolutely right Strowager.

I have long thought a "no confidence in any candidate" would be a desirable option. It would give purpose to voting for those like minded people.

It is however essential to register a vote to avoid indesirable extremists winning the ballot by default.

I believe it should be compusory to vote, at least in the general election. However in this day and age I feel technology needs to be embrased to encourage the new generation to get involved.

  3. I do find it rather sad that over 600,000 (and rising) people condone the resurection of sir jeremy regardless of whether he threw a punch at a colleague or not.

Violence should not be condoned ...... if it is proven that he did nothing wrong then I would expect him to return!!

On the subject of political correctness I am of an age where several things i was brought up to believe to be OK is now not acceptable.

However we live in a very different world now, tollerence, respect & understanding are very important qualities to aspire to if we are ever to live peacefully alongside other cultures. Outspoken, intollerant and loutish behaviour should be discouraged ..... especially in mainstream media.

  4. Clarkson's success can be attributed to his desire/willingness to court controvercy.

I too would like to see a "Please sack clarkson" campaign as I feel the current Top gear format is running out of ideas. .... witness the latest, pointless ambulance conversion sketch.

Some of the travel inspired sketches are quite interesting but the "men behaving badly" slant is now somewhat dated.

  5. As the importance of this seems to be lost to you,and the idea seems to be to stifle debate (or perhaps, not upset any sponsors) I'll let you get on with it.

I feel that the essence of this statement is somewhat high handed and attempts to belittle the mental capacity of some members here.

However I quite enjoy reading the ping pong exchanges between Paladine, strowager and others regarding the BNP (which I always thought stood for the British National Party) ...... just not on every thread that appears here.

I'm sorry if that suggests that I don't understand the importance of the debate to some, I do, it's just that I really don't care what we call the Broads.

  6. I suspect that the same members will raise the same issue regarding National Park status whenever the words National and Park  appear in the same posting regardless of the topic being discussed.

The topic re: National Park has been discussed many times so it is a shame that the same objections/posts are raised when discussing an item that is very useful to all.

Perhaps we should have a thread permanantly available entitled "National Park or not National Park .... that is the question" or "A National Park by any other name would smell as sweet"?

  7. A most useful and informative guide.

Not just for the holidaymaker but us locals also when looking for inspiration for eating holes in the National Park.

Well done for takling the trouble to put this guide together. cheers

  8. Have I misread the article? It seems to me they are saying treated water from sources containing the toxic algea might be contaminated as those particular toxins arn't always checked for.

I hope I have misread it as I would not want to add to the plastic waste mountain through drinking bottled water.

  10. Thanks all for the warm welcome.

I must say the new forum software is very good, much better than the old one.

Lot's of nice features, I particularly like the like button. Unfortunately I can't register that I like the like button as there is no like button to press to say I like the like button.

  11. I think you should be able to have items printed at for example vistaprint etc & delivered to the buyer? Thus avoiding the hastle of post office etc. I think with items such as mugs & key rings etc the quality of the image is less important. Just an alternative to the donation button if that is not to your liking.

  12. With the wealth of imagery gathered here would it not be possible to sell mugs, table mats and other printed items featuring bygones Norfolk & Suffolk imagery?

I realise there might be a copyright issue but I'm sure you would get a number of orders from broadland lovers.

There are loads of places on-line that let you upload imagery for printing on these gift items.

Be up front and add 100% mark up + p&p to your cost price.
