  1. CLIVE,

I KNOW YOU HAVE A MILLION THINGS TO THINK ABOUT WHEN YOU ARE PRODUCING NEW BOATS BUT CAN I MAKE ONE SMALL SUGGESTION?

WHEN YOU HAVE BUILT MORE THAN ONE IN A CLASS AND GET TO THE STAGE OF ADDING A NUMBER TO THE NAME (I.E. CAROUSEL 3) IS IT POSSIBLE TO PRODUCE THE NUMBER IN THE SAME STYLE AS THE NAME ITSELF?

I HAVE JUST BEEN LOOKING AT A PHOTO OF CAROUSEL 3 AND THE NUMBER 3 LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN SLAPPED ON AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT (IMHO) HOW MUCH BETTER IT WOULD LOOK IF IT WERE IN THE SAME STYLE AS THE NAME, AND PART OF THE NAME RATHER THAN STUCK OUT TO ONE SIDE.

  2. Hi Speedtriple

I THINK YOU MAY HAVE COMEUP WITH A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT REALISING IT. YOU RIGHTLY SAY THAT ALL BOATS MAKE WAVES SO WHY NOT CHARGE FOR THE AVERAGE NUMBER AND SIZE OF WAVES CREATED AT SAY 1200 RPM BOTH WITH AND AGAINST THE FLOW OF THE TIDE? YOU WOULD HAVE TO GET THE MAN FROM THE BA TO MEASURE AND COUNT THEM ( THAT IS ASSUMING THE BA HAVE SOMEONE WITH THAT CAPABILITY !! LOL

  3. It seems to me that the BA should take note of what those who " pay the bill" are saying. At the moment I cannot see any incentive from the BA to boatyards who are considering building new boats. As Clive said the older boats do not owe the yard much compared to a new one. Surely it can not be too difficult to work out a toll for each boat based on the boat's age and size without penalising a yard that has the courage to invest in new boats.

  4. Just wondered if anyone has any info on this boat. How well does it handle and is it affected much by crosswinds? Also having had a look at some photos can anyone tell me what is under the hinged section on the rear steps?

  5. Yesterday my wife passed me an envelope and told me it was something from Richardsons. When I started reading the letter I started smiling and told my wife we would have to re-arrange something about the holiday we are due to start on Friday. I could not keep a straight face any longer and told her we would have to set off a bit earlier on Friday as Richardsons hope to have our boat ready for us by 1 o'clock instead of 4 p.m. Great news - our holiday is closer than we thought!! Thanks Clive and crew...you know how to make people happy!

  6. I'm not sure if I have missed something but I have not seen anything saying that Le Boat are pulling out of hiring boats on the Broads. The article just says that HW are buying one style of boat from them and that Le Boat will become a foreign booking agent for HW.

  7. The reason that most places advertise a price without all the add-ons is it sounds a more attractive price. When you realise you have to add on another £200 for fuel, damage waiver, car park etc the total price sounds a lot more. The fact that you can get a refund for unused fuel is not publicised enough so there is no sign of a cushion at the end of your hols. The part of it that always gets me is the charge for parking your car, as if you are not paying enough in the first place and basically they have got you by the short and curlies.

  8. I think the painted parts are a great improvement, makes it look "very pretty". As a non-local I find it difficult to understand why it is so important to spend so much money on something which is used so little and is a pain in the **** for those who pass under it. Maybe someone has a money mountain and they don't know what to do with it....I could suggest a few things lol.
