  1. Sound quality has always been poor on small flat screen TVs

This is our setup. All off the 12v and usb.

medion tv with dvd from Aldi’s and sound bar from eBay. About £150 in total.

We connect the sound bar direct but don’t use the usb on the tv to charge it. This is provided by a cigar lighter extension which has usb on it as well .

Do they know they should navigate on the right to allow traffic coming the other way?

Not just the sup,s. We had about 6 racing canoes pass us this morning on the wrong side of the river. They should know better.

  3. I was just thinking how much cheaper it would be if the BA only charged us only when we used one of our boats but that’s never going to happen. Let’s hope they do something worthwhile with the £900 toll fee I paid this year.

I do hope they catch-up with a lot of the casual sup and inflatables that appear here evenings and weekends.

it’s also worth noting that BCU is the person not the craft, so if like me you have more than one you are covered whichever one you are using.

Oh, that would be good for us as we own 5 boats (4 in the water) and only use one at a time.

  5. Just a couple on the river this evening. Not a single reg mark I could see and the lack of life jackets or buoyancy aids for such unstable craft. Not many wetsuits either which will give a small amount of buoyancy.

  6. Let’s hope they come down here to Thorpe River Green. We get loads down here plus inflatable canoes.
The registration mark could be done with an armband with a waterproof pocket for the mark or canoe union card. If they insist on the reg being on the board then a plastic reg plate on a bungee could be used.

Just my thoughts, I’m there will be others with better ideas.

  7. Hi John. Keeping our fingers crossed here. The crutches are yours to keep if you wish as the NHS don’t seem interested. Will pop over and see you when you get back. If you don’t want to risk another taxi let me know or try  01603446644 or was that who you used.

  8. Ok by me. Just another bit of plastic in my wallet. I already can be identified with my driving license and bus pass but not everyone has or needs a driving licence or is over 65 for a bus pass.
I do think that they should have done this years ago. It will be interesting just how much information and what you will have to produce to get one.

The format of bank card size with picture, address and age plus contactless chip is probably the way it would go. This could be useful at election times as well.
The fingerprint readers would have to be more accurate than the current ones used on phones or tablets.

Lets. Hope that should the gov spend billions on this they get it right.

  9. Pity the farmer didn’t just ban dogs from the field. We much prefer to moor at Pye’s Mill and walk in to shop in Loddon.
I think the distinctive brick piers and the 30 limit sign will be enough to find our way.

We use to like walking through the field with the cows as Ruth’s childhood was on a farm.

  10. Would be interesting who you need to be to be able to post there. I would understand not allowing nonmembers from posting but other than our chairman, mods and committee I thought we were all equal here or is it that some are more equal than others.:default_biggrin:

Anyway my comment I would have added to the thread was the appalling coverage of the races. Where are the highlights at a more sensible time for the less nocturnal ones among us. If had been football god knows how much peak viewing times it would have taken. Let’s hope we can do better tomorrow as today was a disaster.

n.b. Ok, just read Meantimes post which answers my comments. Maybe a new thread to discus the cup would be a good idea.

  11. Well I have no complaints for our doctors. I had a phone call Tuesday just before 1pm. I was asked to confirm my name, address and DofB. Asked if I could attend at 3:55 that afternoon. I arrived early so stayed in my car until 5mins before the appointment. Only a short queue checked in on time taken to a seating area to wait. I didn’t even get to sit down and was called through. Injection done I was sent to another seating area to wait 15mins as I was driving.  Really well organised, all done in just over 20mins. Now just have to wait until Ruth gets hers but she’s 6y younger.

Quick question re heating , where is the best place to get Eberspacher serviced in the Northern Broads please?

I would give JPC Direct a call as they are in Brundall but you may find service agent in Cambridge as there are a lot fitted to trucks, RV,s etc.
