  2. Lovely convivial evening in The Crown in the company of Gary , Charlotte and Oscar .

Left the wet shed at 09:00 gentle cruise down the Ant , saw a couple of hire boats (Herbert Woods) and one privateer .

Popped into Boulters , very windy so made a complete c**k up of that ,  pump out and diesel top up and now moored up on Horning staithe

with any luck Ludham bridge will be more passable this weekend

  4. Sounds as if “the computer says no” attitude has become their practice now , they used to say that if we cancelled then we would have to pay the balance of the full deposit but if the boat was rented for the week we cancelled then we would get back all but the £50 early booking  discounted deposit.

  5. I too hate a plate to be piled high , hence I do not enjoy a carvery , I would far rather put a smaller amount on my plate and go back if I wanted more, sadly carveries do not permit this .

  6. Whilst this thread has contained some interesting information it has sadly evolved into something we try and avoid on the NBN and has turned confrontational , there are always differing opinions on many subjects and healthy discussion is encouraged however this does not mean that confrontational posts will be permitted , please keep it civil to avoid locking or potentially removing this thread

Just thought I'd mention that the ice at Richardson's marina seems to have cleared.

    Just saying !!!

Typical , I’m back how at work now 🤬

  8. Can I echo our esteemed Chairman’s views and ask members to keep this thread solely as it was intended and not as an us and them platform .

Kate and I wish Richard a full and speedy recovery and hope his forum is back up and running soon .

  10. Maintaining or lack of of the river system certainly hasn’t helped as far as river levels are concerned but this years storm following storm and seemingly never ending rainfall being due to a quirk in the weather or due to global warming the levels have been at a previously unrecorded high ; Ludham bridge has been showing a clearance of around 7ft2” for quite a while now. LBBY has been flooded yet again , and we have all read about the flooding in Potter and Horning and in many cases witnessed it ourselves also.

The BA still lists the height of Ludham bridge as being an average of 8ft6” a level very rarely seen nowadays it’s about time the BA guide on bridge clearances is updated Potter is still listed at 6ft6” !!

  11. I would love to be privy to the “ behind the closed door “ reaction of the BA leadership to this letter , and await eagerly any response from them that is placed in the public realm .

Their behaviour in this matter must certainly worry their most ardent of supporters and seriously damage the standing of their leadership in the public eye.

I would respectfully request @tom from the BA that when a press release or similar is posted from the BA to this letter (as it surely must be) that he post it here also .

  12. When I ran a very very busy city centre local with literally hundreds of locals I got in the habit of calling everyone uncle and auntie , they liked it and it meant I didn’t have to remember hundreds of names (I did however remember what they drank)
