I was told this story by some crane operators(hired in - a Norwich firm but forget the name) on winter lift out day at a yard by Wayford Bridge. The crane guys had been boat builders/engineers at Moonraker(among others) in the 70's and had plenty of stories from the time which had me fascinated, the world certainly seems different nowadays!
The boats going across to France apparently would have boards put up in the front wells to keep the spray out and "you had to pick your weather" and go for it! Fun times it would seem!

Hi JF, we've used Jeckells a couple of times for canopy/covers and upholstery and always had a positive experience. If you can wait then their winter discount scheme makes for a pretty decent saving too.

There is another Horizon 35 with the name Fleur d'Azur on the Broads, I assume a sister of the one above.
That Safari looks pretty high in the water to me, a project perhaps?

Don't some 'all electric' boats have a hefty generator that has to run whilst cooking etc?

It's definitley wider now, there is a picture from one of the 'B.A.' lads weeks showing it full to the brim, with boats down the middle as well as either side. (big uns too).

Various phases planned, much of it overnight only but some contraflow also. This current phase of lane closures is due to last until 23rd of May.
I had the pleasure of a 15 minute (ish) delay coming home this evening at around 1730 hours.
Bit of a pain but it has to be done sometime I guess....

If it runs out on a VW the engine will not start, however you do get plenty of warning before this happens. Not sure what happens on other brands but well worthwhile familarising yourself with your particular car's requirements.

The tank capacity is about 10 litres so if 2.5 was filling it up to the brim then that's a bit odd for the warning to come up so early. Anyhoo, moot point I guess, just curiosity on my part.

Tbf the MOT only checks smoke output on diesels, the standards for which are much tighter for newer models. (tested to a figure which is on the VIN plate, unless it's not there). Most of the DPF equipped VW's that I test produce too little smoke for the machine to register.
Adblue is injected into the exhaust as the catalyst to turn Nitrogen Oxide into Oxygen and Nitrogen(if I recall correctly)thus reducing that particular emission.

My Safari might sprout a reverse cam at some point but it's quite a way down the list behind such things as an engine that runs properly and windows that don't leak......etc etc

Deffo going to be popping up to check things over asap after the 29th, can do it it a day so no worries there and will be waiting for the 12th before overnighting. Tbh I'd be happy to wait as long as needed if I could just do a monthly check on her to make sure all is well. As it is I haven't seen the boat since mid December. Fingers crossed all is well for myself and everybody else too.

If I have correctly understood your requirements, I think this one might do the job MM, it has Aux out as well as FM transmitter/Bluetooth etc and as far as I can tell it is powered soley off the cig lighter. I have no personal experience of it though so I apologise if it's rubbish.
Edit to add that I googled 'in car mp3' which brought up a big selection so there may be others that do the same thing.

Hiya LondonGuy, the Generator being under the bed is pretty much 'par for the course' on a boat, engines, pumps, batteries, chargers etc etc etc all have to go somewhere![:default_biggrin: :default_biggrin:](//s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/norfolkbroadsnetwork.aws/emoticons/default_biggrin.png)
The engine on my own boat is under the main saloon seating area which is also a bed if you want it.
There is a lot of woodwork missing at the moment but this will give you a flavour.....
It's the blue thing, bottom right(in case you aren't familiar).
