  1. There is a story behind me selling the boat, at the time it wasn't financial but the way things have gone i probably did it at the right time.

The biggest decision i had was either a caravan or a motorhome, all my life from 17 i wanted motorhome, ' read all the mags in the 70's ' never wanted a caravan. After a lot of thinking about what would be best for us it had to be a caravan. So here i am after never wanting one or wanting to tow one, got one and loving it. Trouble is now thinking about a bigger one :default_icon_e_surprised:.

All this from spending 4hrs on a ride on lawnmower cutting a 4 acre field

Then a quiet day Tuesday before meeting some more friends who have a mobile home and have booked a pitch at Ludham near the Dog Inn, so we have planned to meet them at Ludham bridge on Wednesday morning to take them up to Wroxham, and back before finishing off the evening at the Dog Inn before they retire.

Would that be on the Broadlands Site or Manor Farm, Our first visit back to the Broads since we sold the boat will be in July with the caravan at Manor Farm. that will be 18mths since selling. Looking forward to it,  still not missing the boat but enjoying caravanning.

We enjoyed owning a boat on the broads for over 10 years but Im not sad to say Im glad we no longer have a it.

Not having one has also meant we have experienced other things we probably wouldn’t have done with that all consuming financial bottomless pit hanging round our necks

If you are a boat owner I will keep you in my thoughts……..😂

I too enjoyed owning my boat for 15 years And am now in the same boat as you (excuse the pun)

Glad i sold it when i did and don't miss it.

Now a caravaner and loving it. if you had asked me a couple of years ago if i would want one i would have said never.

Never wanted one or wanted to tow one, how things have changed.

I hear caravaners complain about how expensive site fees etc  are getting, Ha peanuts compaired to boating owning.

I will be back visiting  Ludham in July but with the caravan for 10 days, looking forward to that.

Hope to meet up with old friends then.

Beautiful colouring. I’ve never seen a Dachshund with a mottled coat before.  Will she stay like that or do they change as they get older?

She'll stay that colour like her mum, our friend's that breed them have had several like her from other dogs including Beccles daughter.

  5. Not wanting to hijack Griff's thread about the new pup, i thought i would add here our new pup.

Some of you met 'Beccles' when we had her out on the boat, here she is with Mable our new addition 13weeks old.

Not sure how feasible mudweighting would be when the racing is in progress.

Wouldn't want to mudweight in the middle when the racing is on :default_laugh: .But up near the houseboat is good for watching.

  10. So, For example, if a hirer/ syndicate owner decides to have their last 24hrs at say Sutton staithe leaves and the next hirer/owner then goes to the same place for their first 24hrs the same day, the boat could be percived to have been there for over 48hrs, would that be breaking the bylaw rules?

  11. Look out for Peters Joy, the new owners are out this week, just been messaging them. a photo would be nice if you see them.

We are just enjoying our new caravanning life. will be back next year with the caravan, staying local this year getting used to towing it.
