We decided against a walk into Horning as the dogs were shattered after the long journey, so we put them in the car again and drove to Roy's car park next to Hoveton Park and took them for a stroll before stopping off for a drink at the King's Head
It was lovely relaxing by the river and the dogs enjoyed sitting or lying down on the grass whilst we had a drink
I then walked to Ken's Chippy for 2 Cod, 1 chips and 1 peas before we headed back to the boat, open a bottle of wine and had our chippy tea
It's lovely now as we are relaxing in the marina and all I can hear is the snoring of my dogs!!!!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
And it's a simply stunning evening
You must have missed us we have been here since lunch time on the mooring near the Kings Head.

I received a message lost in translation that you would follow me down, but I kept a weather eye out and could not see you when I left,
I had a walk round to see you but you hadn't got there then, passed later in the car to call in Lidl and would have stopped to see you loading the boat but all the parking at the yacht station is now disabled only. when i got back and walked round again you had gone, sorry i missed you. see you tomorrow evening when we get to Ranworth.

We are now moored at St Olaves ready for a not too early start in the morning, should be at Ranworth by the evening after a steady potter about once we are up that end.

I am getting to the point where i cant wait to drive to the boat, the only problem I do have is that I have to go to the office tomorrow for a 4pm appointment (internal job interview) when I was going to be final packing and loading the car from 3pm - still never mind, it will still be an earlyish start Thursday
Hi Peter, hope you've got your marigolds and plenty of cleaning equipment, Water Rail is looking very neglected at the moment.

I haven’t seen richardsons jolly richie out on the rivers for a couple of years. I did wonder how the wrapping would stand upto the abuse a hire boat receives in a season, especially the Hull. It's been a few years since she was done it would be interesting to know how it's held up. Maybe it's done just fine and it's cheaper in the long term to vinyl wrapp a superstructure then it is to keep re painting them. Easier to keep clean as well I'd of thought.

Yes I killed 2 toothbrush chargers before realising it was the cheaper 150w inverter that did it.
Recently bought one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B076P9PGX3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Looks a well made unit, have used it but not for the toothbrush yet, stuck to mains for topping those up.
Just a quick update, these inverters have been £47 on amazon for ages, just reduced to £35 today. i've ordered another one just now, far better than a cheap modified sine wave one.

Great drone shots as usual, David. From picture 3 it's hard to believe there was once a thriving Aston Boats base there.
Including mine there are 5 aston boats in that shot.

Unfortunately when we checked that route which we sometimes take there was a lot of roadworks that way too.

I drive down yesterday via A1, A17, A47, NDR then through Wroxham to Stalham. The only active roadworks I encountered were Sutton Bridge which was only 15 mins delay

Went to the boat Monday, Sutton Bridge wasn't a problem going late evening, a bit different this lunch time, almost an hour to get through. Will get worse in May with some full overnight closures and diversions.

I had a Stilletto from brand new. Brilliant little motor but suffered from overheating within about 3 months from purchase. The main dealer could not sort it (it was one of the first) so part exed it for a VX 4.90 when it was about 9 months old!
Now that brings back memories, my dad had a couple of VX4.90's mid to late 70's.
