Hello Paul if you are crossing Breydon Water early Saturday morning you may well see us we are aiming to pass under the Yarmouth Bridges at 7.00 am.
Regards
Alan
I need to check the Tides, didn't think we needed to be so early.

Heading back to the boat tomorrow afternoon.
The plan is a bit of shopping in Beccles friday morning, then cruise up to St Olaves for the evening, ready to cross Breydon Saturday morning.
Meet up with friends at Acle Bridge on two other boats for an evening there, then escorting one of them back across Breydon to Brundall if his engine holds out or towing him. He is leaving his boat at Peachments then for a new engine fitting. Breydon could be fun looking at the weather.. Photo's to follow of the trip again if anyone's interested.

I wouldn't rely on the taper only holding it, especially when there's sudden forward/ reverse loads involved.
Looking at that, any good engineering shop should be able to rebuild that and fit a new key.

We were out last week too. Hopefully back again 4th feb for another week, will be crossing Breydon again to assist another boat back across Breydon to have his engine replaced.

it is likely the bridge will be out of operation for at least a few days.
A few days?
Maybe they should have state a couple of weeks as it has now been ten days
You can bet if it had a fault stopping trains running it would have been sorted pronto
Griff
Thats why i posted it.

Not sure if this is the right place for it, but after passing the bridge twice this week it's not operational due to a technical fault.
Can't find any news about it on the BA web site so just a heads up ( no pun intended) if anyone needs an opening.

I'll upload some more photos of Elaines once we are home and can sort them out.
Sadly it's time to pack up to go home tomorrow.
