  1. We have just had out boat lifted out for the winter season, this is the first lift since it was purchased earlier this year. It is an ex Castle Craft hire boat (GRP) approx 9 years old. On washing down the hull, I have noticed that it appears to have std blue antifoul around the water line. However, underneath it has a black substance, almost tar like, but dry to the touch. Have not seen this before. Is this normal practice by the boat yards? If so where can it be purchased? I assume it must be cheaper than normal fresh water antifouls. I also have a concern regarding being environmentally friendly, If it is not the case can I cover it with a fresh water antifoul? Any advice would be very much appreciated.
  2. I am looking to install a water tank level indicator. (You can guarantee you will run out of water when it is most inconvenient). I am a little bit nervous of cutting holes in stainless steel tank to fit a sender unit. How can you ensure that no swarf will drop into the tank? I have found a company Henderson Plastics that supply a kit for this purpose, it uses an inline pressure sensor to be installed in the outlet pipe adjacent to the tank. Has anyone used a system like this? If so how accurate is it? Can anyone advise of any other suggestions or options available? Your help would very much be appreciated. Col & Lou
  3. Hi All When we purchased our previous boat we had 2 Jack Russells hence the name Happy Jax Earlier this year we changed boats, at that time we had lost one of our Jacks and aquired a Golden Retriever. (Happy Golden Jax seemed a bit of a mouthfull) Ended up with Happy Jax II. (More Original, huh!) Col & Lou
