My boat has an inverter fitted on it and a ring main consisting of 3 sockets,if I plumb shore power into the existing consumer unit would I still need a splitter switch even though the Inverter has a on/off switch in the cabin?

Cattleya, that's exactly what we did last winter and as it was our first winter as a boat owner wanted to do it right, and we carried on boating through all the bad weather, just avoid the ice though,it makes a mess of your paint!

the top picture is the paint before we sanded it, we will use a textured formica on the aft coach roof to avoid having a shiney surface.
it is but it still seems to make my head ache just about every day
It will be worth every headache when its finished I reckon

Thanks for that Perry
Dan I would use Richos obviously but with the amount of work they are doing I think I might struggle to get them done this year as I would like to get them done before the winter sets in

Got my sterling power manual cross over switch today, now reading through the brief instructions I notice that the Earth wire doesn't go to the switch but by- passes it and goes direct to the consumer unit, now I was wondering what would be the best way to join 3 earth wires together,I was thinking maybe a Bus bar ?
Any ideas
