Quite a culture shock, in that corner of the Broads! I suppose this sort of thing just goes to show that the Broads are not natural. They are Man-made and evolve according to what Man wants to do next. So "conservation" must be in the eye of the beholder. Thank God we all managed to stop them building a barrier across the Yarmouth Haven, back in those days.
