ZimbiIV
Jill has just had an idea I think is good but could it work? Reedham and Somerleyton bridges display a vhf contact number and when the bridge will open. Her thought is could they not also flash the current clearance? Surely this would benefit the railway in not having to open when someone is in doubt because the gauge is odscured. paul

Chelsea14Ian
Paul it is a very good idea the only problem is they can't even get the present boards right. The other day the board West completely covered in reeds.Someone also said they don't want to open the bridge in hot weather. So that follows the wrong kind of snow/sun/rain/etc etc. Ian
ZimbiIV
My thought is a simple laser rule connected to the gauge, should not be expensive or difficult to do. Do BR have a suggestion site there must lots of bridges around the waterways similar, BA could do it for all bridges but the cost may mean one less quango. I like to dream the powers that be, may care for the users. paul
